The Westbury Hotel

Dublin City Center Dublin|0.75km from Oscar Wilde House
Unfortunately, my entire experience with the Hotel Westbury was a great disappointment. It should become a beautiful experience on my birthday and became a bitter experience. Now to a 5 star unworthy hotel stay. The porter was fixed with the removal of the baggage on a frying evening. The Check-In went as snowy as in a simple hotel without birthday wishes or so. Everything like a robot. My demand for an upgrade matching my Doyle status was denied since the house was full. Quickly checked on the internet, it was a smooth lie. The room was a studio suite for 1 night my offer price 511 Euro normal night so from 700 Euro with breakfast. The first appearance was good. Not large, a small window on the 5th floor but nice bright and a large bathroom. But here the negative continued. When checking the cleanliness, the topper of the bed was dirty and the mattress also had the same issue, dust over the bed (it was a kind of cot) dust on the wall, dirty glassesin the minibar. I reported all these shortcomings with pictures at the assistant guest experience manager of the evening Mr. Hickey. He took them up suprised and guaranteed me a call in 5min. After almost 15 minutes there was no call, but the ladies of the housekeeping were there. But didn't know anything about the big problem of bed. After a call and further waiting there was finally a solution in the form of a new mattress. The Assistant Experience Manager has to handle the big heavy mattress with a maintance guy. The baggage came niw after about. 40min now in the room after it stood forever lonely and partly unobserved in the area in front of the lifts. I was allowed to watch the whole drama in the room until the manager came up with the idea to offer a drink in the bar. The ladies of the housekeeping were very friendly and open to the comments. It is not for me to make someone bad, but to sharpen the view again. The drink in the lobby bar was OK but also there was not asked about the preferences of the taste. Also a small attention to the birthday was given in the form of a small dessert, which I did not really want to eat after the whole dilemma. Even the already renovated room left some questions as to how to remove it. The carpet was badly cut and the edges were not covered with a ledge, the upstroke in the wall of the bathtub was mounted at about 1m height and thus completely useless. The edge of the tub could not be used for standing up, since the edge of the tub was almost completely overbuilt from the wall of the mamor. The breakfast is absolutely solid but also minimal something special for a 5 star hotel. What annoys that the waiters ask you every 2 minutes with a already penetrated courtesy. No wonder if there is a card on the table where you can give tips for the service. A late check out was friendly possible and a taxi was ordered and agreed that the baggage was picked up because it was quite a bit extra. This did not work in spite of time agreement and I had to carry everything myse

Trinity Townhouse Hotel

Dublin City Center Dublin|0.43km from Oscar Wilde House
This hotel is perfect, location is amazing (hidden gem), and the staff...unbeilable fantastic! I want to start the review by thanking, Lidia, Abby, Alon, Dana and Lidia. I stayed at this hotel: 2 nights on my first trip (mid February) and then 3 nights with my family (early March). From the moment you arrive, you know this is not your typical hotel. It is more like an exclusive apartment with guest services. Do not expect the traditional hotel feel. I felt like I had my own apartment in the middle of Dublin and I had a friend at the front desk to guide me, provide me with recommendations and assist me with any question or service that I needed. Amazing! It made my stay in Dublin feel like I was at home. They knew me by name and knew what I needed. There is no elevator, which made it even better as I was able to do a bit of work-out getting to my room and along the way, I met a few of the other guests. This is not a party place, a loud and obnoxious place, you will not find rude people. Just guests who are interested in feeling like they are home. Since I stayed here in two different occasions, I was able to experience two different rooms both in the upper floor, one facing west and the other east. No street noise at night and its was quiet. The rooms have their own AC units which allows you to control the temperature in them. The housekeeping ladies (Dana and Lidia) will make sure your room is tidy every time you come back from your daily outing. Lidia will make sure that your are welcomed and Abby and Alon will make sure that you are taken care in the weekend and evenings. Can't say enough about this place! Perfect gem and a great place to be at.

I have stayed at 4 or 5 hotels in my various trips to Ireland. I even stayed at a 5 star resort the last time I traveled here and I will say hands down the room at the Alex was by far the nicest room I have stayed in. It's not directly in the town center but it's just a 10 min walk away and one I didn't mind based on the quality of the room. My only wish was that it had a pool. There is a work out facility across the street that I never checked out so one might have been there. If I ever go back to Dublin I would definitely stay here again. They have a couple of restaurants near by both places were excellent one served the best fish in chips that I have ever had the other had a great Guinness beef pie.

This hotel was perfect for a 2 night stay in Dublin. Very clean and quiet, but so close to the centre. Used the gym both mornings, which was used by several people and clean with towels, water, and a good choice of equipment. Good supply of toiletries, coffee and tea in the room, as well as several bottles water, which is always so welcome! Room small, but not tiny. Staff was fantastic- especially Sabrina who could not have done enough! She offered to organise any tours, and helped us with the Dublin express to the airport (much better than a taxi!). Would definitely stay again!
