South Broadway Manor B&B - Near Fallingwater, Ohiopyle State Park, Hiking & Biking Trails Gap

Step into the past with a stay in this historic and lovingly restored mansion! We visited Fallingwater and decided to book a night here as it’s only 35 miles away. What a treasure! The owner Pat is fantastic, over the top friendly and her restoration of the Manor and its support buildings are a complete labor of love. We arrived early so we got the grand tour of the mansion and its 9 uniquely furnished rooms. We’re huge history geeks, so it was an incredible experience! We had booked both rooms in the Carriage House and it was cozy, clean and comfortable. All of us felt pampered like royalty! Breakfast is normally at 9AM, but we needed to get on the road by 8:30AM. Raphael, the chef, kindly made special accommodations and it was over the top delicious! Our son ate so much that we thought he would eat his plate too. Snacks are provided throughout the stay and there’s a fire pit and hot tub available. If you like to immerse yourself in history or ever wanted to spend a night in museum, then look no further. You will fall in love with this building and it’s amazing staff - just like we did!

A friend recommended this place when we decided to see Fallingwater. It's a gem, the owner Pat has restored this home and made it into an bed and breakfast. Each room has a theme, we stayed in the Crystal Rose room which was feminine and romantic. Pat gave us a tour of the home and we got to see each room as the other rooms were empty that night. The breakfasts are homemade and delicious. There are also snacks and breakfast items like cereal and oatmeal if you can't make it to breakfast between 9-10am. Pat is very warm and friendly, gave lots of good recommendations in regards to food and activities. She had lived in NYC for a while so knows what is NYC quality food. We were celebrating my husband's birthday so it was sweet she sang happy birthday to him at breakfast and left us some sparkling cider. We really enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend staying here.

Loved this B&B! The house was an old manor home from the early 1900's. Each guest room had a theme. My room was the Victorian Room. It was beautifully decorated, cozy and had its own private bathroom. Although the B&B was styled with old furnishings, it did still have modern conveniences such as an air conditioner, TV, device charging outlet, and a bathroom with modern fixtures. I liked that I was not lacking in modern convenience but still felt like I was visiting great grandma's house. The door had an antique lock with a skeleton key which was cool. I must admit, the lock was a challenge and not as easy to use as I had expected. I did practice with the lock a few times before I left my room in search of dinner. The B&B has off street parking which I liked. Parking at B&B is always a concern for me. Many times the facility does not have enough parking for the available units. That was not the case at this B&B. I only stayed for one night and had an early departure which made it impossible for me to be available when breakfast was served. Breakfast was served between 8am and 10am. I told the proprietor this was not a problem but she was kind enough to have the cook prepare an early breakfast for me. The extra effort and hospitality was greatly appreciated. Know before you go: The B&B uses a self check-in process. I reserved my room online using a hotel booking site. The online site reserves rooms by the type of bed in the room. The B&B reserves rooms by the name of the room. This made it harder when I did the self check-in because my confirmation did not indicate the name of the room, only that I had reserved a room with a queen sized bed. Everything was resolved without issue once I spoke to the proprietor but this is something guests should know before arriving.

I stayed at this amazing B&B, a 35-mile gorgeous drive from Fallingwater. Completed 1903 by J.P. Brennan, the CFO of the Frick Coke company, the mansion is lovingly and authentically restored including many of the original furnishings, yet with all the modern amenities. Breakfast was delicious and elegantly served by attentive staff. Pat, the owner could not have been more warm and welcoming and when she discovered that I was a history buff shared all of the details of the home and area's history, and gave me a tour of the entire mansion, including the many personal family treasures that she unearthed while restoring the mansion. Nestled in the Laurel Highlands of PA, my visit was pure perfection!

We stayed at South Broadway Manor for one night but wish it could have been longer. Everything about our experience was excellent, from the charm and comfort of the Manor itself to the wonderful food options (including freshly baked peach cobbler as were sitting around the fire pit with other guests during the evening) to our host Pat, a lovely person who has thought of everything, big and small, when it comes to operating a B&B. She was very welcoming, knowledgable and went the extra mile, for example, to provide a set up for us to eat a dinner outside that we brought back from town. Our room was very comfortable and well-appointed, and the Manor is beautiful. Breakfast was outstanding. This was one of the best B&B experiences, in fact one of the best lodging experiences, we have had. By all means, if you are in the area, be sure to stay at South Broadway Manor. We will certainly be back.
