Had an absolutely outstanding Afternoon Tea @ The Cromlix. The food was amazing. The staff go above & beyond, very helpful and friendly. The decor & furnishings are beautiful, with beautiful art work. Highly recommend, and we will definitely return.

First of all let’s start with the positives - stunning hotel and setting, staff were also very friendly and attentive. My mum, sister and I attended for “traditional afternoon tea’ after receiving this as a gift. We were presented with the menu and neither of us liked anything on the menu. There were no sandwiches - it was all savoury items and then a selection of cakes. It is advertised as a traditional afternoon tea (never have I been for a traditional afternoon tea and there not be a selection of sandwiches). We explained to our waitress that we didn’t like anything in the menu and could they offer a selection of sandwiches. Our waitress was extremely nice and asked what type of sandwiches we would like and she would go and speak to the chef. She came back and said that they would make up some sandwiches for us. After some 35 minutes we were presented with what I can only describe as sandwiches that were made by a two year old. There was no effort whatsoever they werej ust plonked on a plate no garnish or anything fancy. I reckon there was a total of six slices of white bread cut into strips between three of us and just basic ham and cheese sandwiches - for £47.50 a head we thought this was extremely disappointing. The waitress came over and asked if the sandwiches were ok and we said no we were extremely disappointed - she apologised and said that wasn’t their usual standard - so why then was it acceptable to serve them to us in the first place! It felt as though the chef was annoyed and just prepared the most basic sandwiches. The cakes were lovely however after our experience we wouldn’t return and certainly won’t recommend anyone goes for a traditional afternoon tea as advertised as it is certainly not that.

Had a wonderful afternoon tea! I am gluten free which was no problem at all and the food was lovely and everything was explained correctly. Jodie was wonderful; very polite, helpful and had a very friendly a credit to your team. I would definitely recommend for a day out if you are gluten free. The place was clean and very well decorated. It was my birthday and they were so lovely and made me a cute birthday plate. The whole experience was joyful

Had a lovely afternoon tea this afternoon for my 30th and the service was absolutely outstanding. The atmosphere was beautiful and food delicious. Me and my friends did 3 afternoon teas at separate locations due to us all turning 30 and we all agreed this was the best out of the bunch!

Cromlix hotel is truly a hidden gem. My wife and I came for lunch and had a wonderful day from start to finish! The hotel is magnificent and is filled with fresh flowers and impressive art in each room. We were advised on arrival that we were more than welcome to wander around the hotel and were even able to have a shot of the snooker table in the billiard room above the restaurant. The grounds are very impressive and so well taken care of. The bar area is warm and relaxing, my wife and I had the perfect cromlix cocktail made with their own gin which was delicious! Callum the barman was 10/10! My wife is a big fan of Andy and Callum was kind enough to chat all things tennis with her while we enjoyed our drinks. For lunch we both had the brocolli soup which was creamy and flavoursome. I had the chicken for my main course and my wife had the fish, both were incredible. Our server Shola was warm and attentive, she was happy to answer all of our questions and had an incredible passion for her job. In fact, all of the staff were very friendly and we felt like they went above and beyond for us. The dark haired lady we spoke with at reception (sorry we didn’t catch her name) was also very kind and gave us lots of information about booking an overnight stay. We will definitely be back.

What an amazing stay, made even better by a complimentary upgrade to the Dahlia suite, which was stunning. Loved the house, the grounds, the food and, most of all, the wonderful staff who were so lovely and happy to chat. Had a lovely walk, drinks in the bar (gorgeous space!) and a fabulous dinner. Breakfast was also delicious and a good choice. Felt very spoiled, especially sitting by the log fire after dinner. Anyone due to visit for the first time, you are in for a treat.

I have been to Cromlix over the last few years and enjoyed afternoon tea, however after visiting on 4/4/25 I have felt let down by the normally high standards. What has made this worse is that I emailed last week as I didn’t want to make a fuss whilst there as it was busy and although I was told it would be passed to the restaurant manager to contact me I’m still waiting on a reply 4 days later. The afternoon tea menu has just recently changed, the savouries on my last visit in December were exceptional, flavours fantastic and great variety however this time from 6 down to 5 and not the usual flare. What disappointed me more though was the sweet selection this is always a favourite as they are always intricate, yet one of the cakes were 2 tiny madeleines, it just lacked the Cromlix flare, now I don’t know why but having seen a recent post of their new menu by another guest the madeleines were missing was it maybe an off day? As said previously I’ve been lucky enough to visit on a number of occasions for afternoon tea and each time it’s been amazing but I feel let down on the lack of response.
