This place still seems to be working out the kinks. It feels like a soft opening. The hotel is terrible at communicating to guests about all the amenities that are available. What I learned I’ve learned from other guests like the afternoon tea service that is available but you need to ask for it. The water activities are complimentary and available daily but you need to request it so they bring them over from the other property. When the sea is rough the water taxi does not run but the hotel does not tell you that. They were shooting new promotional photos and videos for the hotel during my stay so if you happened to be in the only restaurant, lobby, beach front, etc. guests were asked to move. None of this was communicated to guests ahead of time. The beach in front of the hotel is small and full of rocks so it’s extremely difficult to get in and out and you definitely need water shoes. There is not much of a beach so if you are looking for soft sand without rocks and coral, stay elsewhere. We also found the dinner service to be extremely slow and it sure why we had to sign the meal checks every time, for tips perhaps??. On the positive side, the food here is pretty good and completely surprised me as I was not expecting it from AI. The staff here is amazing especially Wade the bartender and Pat the omelette lady at breakfast. I cannot remember everyone’s names but every server and attendant I encountered was friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and the bathroom is beautiful but can get stuffy due to the lack of AC. There is only a mini split in the bedroom. The beds are typically Marriott quality and comfortable. The morning and evening turndown service is great and the towels are replenished frequently. One big gripe I have is the false advertisement on the hotel website. There is no gym or other restaurants at this property so the website should say it’s still being built or take down the photos. The management team also needs to do a better job letting the guests know when there is limited access to amenities and facilities to set expectations. Despite some of the issues I encountered, I had a fantastic time in Barbados and would come back due to all the friendly people and feeling safe getting around. Even the reggae bus was an experience that everyone should try.

We stayed at The House 5 years ago and were looking forward to returning for the reopening to see what improvements had been made since Marriot carried out a refurbishment . We were blown away ! The new fresh decor and furnishings both outside and inside are a great improvement . The staff as lovely and friendly as ever and it was very special to see Andrew again , as always making The House an exceptional venue with First Class service . We weren’t sure about AL but executive chef Hans runs a super kitchen and very few dishes are repeated , despite our 2 week stay. If you’re looking for a 5 star adults only relaxing place to chill then go stay at The House , it’s fabulous !

We booked a Junior suite for a week in early May. We arrived at lunchtime and warmly greeted by Anthony who was ever present by Reception. The room was already available for us which was really appreciated after a long flight from the UK. It was on the ground floor a short distance from Reception and opened directly out on to the pool and views beyond out to sea. It had obviously benefitted from the recent refurb and had everything you might require….air conditioning, lovely king size bed, coffee machine, well stocked fridge, free wifi and USB charging points. The food was simply exceptional……the usual self-service champagne breakfast, three course lunch and dinner. Dietary restrictions could usually be accommodated. A free bar operated all day and offered premium spirits, beers and a huge range of cocktails cheerfully served up by Devere, Wade and Denis. The waiting staff were fantastic without exception. Special thanks to Sheena, Agnes, Rico, Andrew and Heather…and others I have missed! The hotel was not fully occupied so there was no problem finding sunbeds and the modest pool was rarely used by more than a handful of people at any given time. Full marks to Kwesly who was always circulating to make sure you had drinks and lollipops! There is a water taxi which regularly runs between the House and two other hotels in the group…Treasure Beach about five minutes one way to the north and Waves, 20 mins to the south. Reception can book you into the restaurants at either and the water taxi stops at all three without booking…just stand on the beach! The beach in front of the hotel is relatively narrow and the sand quite hard on the feet as others have said. More adventurous folk were borrowing the hotel goggles etc and found some good snorkeling just offshore. On our last day we were able to keep our room until our taxi came at 15.00 instead of the normal 12.00…this meant we were able to make full use of our last day. There were some minor downsides during the stay. A digger working on the adjoining building site was creating some noise and disruption but this will be short lived once the works are complete. Rooms close to the central reception and dining area could be quite noisy from 6.00 am as staff arrived for work and started pushing trolleys around. The room doors would benefit from more sound proofing or ideally an extra internal door to create a lobby area. We did get some mosquito bites in the room at night but the cleaning staff then sprayed twice daily which fixed the problem. Overall though these are minor issues which did nothing to affect a fabulous stay.

The minute we arrived at the house we was blown away by how stunning this hotel is , looking through the archway and seeing the sea is beautiful. Rooms have all been renovated and were brilliant , we chose an ocean view room which was worth the extra . From the management team to the omelette lady the workers truly make this place work . If you fancy being pampered this hotel is for you . A short walk up the road is Rihanna’s mansion and sandy lane hotel which is lovely for afternoon tea . On a negative note there is no restaurant ( positanos ) next to the house which holiday groups are advertising, beach is very small ( Mother Nature to blame I know ) The tamarind next door is being renovated but doesn’t impact your stay occasional noise . Even with these negative areas we had a super time infact our best holiday ever . Thankyou to all of you Jenny & Gary xx

We will be back! The service and people here- exceptional. From Wade and Deven at the bar (and everyone), Andy “Tupac” resident handyman and Jack of all trades, front desk staff, Richelle (amazing) Shalei at front, Anthony, Troy - Sheena and Alison, all the lovely servers, and - the egg lady Pat- who also does first aid (as needed) she is literally the sweetest human, literally everyone was amazing. I cannot say enough good things. We travel a lot, and WILL come back. So relaxing, so lovely and newly renovated! Walking distance from so many lovely spots- Sandy Cove, and the Cliff. We didn’t have time to try any of the included water activities but something fun to look forward to next time. When small things happen, you don’t need to ask or say a word, the staff are on it, and work to ensure you feel valued. Although the room was fabulous, rooms facing the ocean, food solid for an all inclusive, wine list solid for an all inclusive and great cocktails, the best part was the people. Hands down, the people. And of course the complimentary massage! Stacy/ amazing. Typically these massages that are comp’d at all inclusive are subpar, and they push add ons. The massage was so professional and relaxing. No added pressure to do anything more. But for sure, when I go back, we will spend more time in spa! Definitely recommend for a quiet relaxing pampered get away.

I can't rate this hotel highly enough. having been recently renovated it was amazing. The room was a great size with a clear view of the poolside and the sea. The layout of the hotel was easy to navigate although be mindful there are no lifts so if you have mobility issues pick a room on the ground floor. The place was clean and kept so. The food is plentiful and of very good quality, you won't go hungry. What really makes this hotel is the staff, they are so friendly and welcoming. Some to mention are Andrew in the restaurant along with Shontel, Sophie and Agnes, Wade in the bar and Kwesly who ensures you don't dehydrate by the pool brining drinks, lollies and cold towels. The small size of this hotel enables you to makes it feel like a large house so you quickly make friends with guests & staff which all adds to the experience. I highly recommend this hotel.

I was a little worried about this resort because of the construction going on at some of the Marriott properties but it wasn't too bad at all. There are several beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach, and we didn't sit next to the construction. Regardless, it was minimal. Overall, the food was excellent, and the staff was outstanding. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 was because the beach, once in the water was rocky and the beach is very small and there's not much walking you can do. Also, the pool is small. There isn't a pool bar or hot tub so if you're looking for that, this isn't the place for you. Overall, the vibe was more romantic; there were mostly couples. You see the same people every day which is nice if you want to make friends. The water pressure was very weak but otherwise, the rooms are new, and our view was good. Everything at The House is included so there's no cost for anything except jet skiing. Tipping is weird you can either tip throughout your tip or just tip at the end but the only 'bill' you get is for dinner. I would definitely go there again and probably try another beach for a day.

From the moment we arrived we knew we were going to have an amazing holiday. We absolutely loved everything about The House! The Staff are amazing and can’t do enough for you. Big shout out to Aggie, Wade, Andrew, Dennis, Kobia, Jada, and honestly ALL other staff that looked after us! You guys are the heart of this hotel! Rooms are huge, mini bar plentiful, plenty of sunbeds, lovely breakfasts (big shout out to Pat!!!) The lovely ambassadors sorted out any reservations we wanted to make at restaurants on the island, arranged taxis for us and came round every morning to see if we needed any help with anything at breakfast. We celebrated our 50th and 60th birthdays while there and it was the best holiday we could have had. Food was plentiful and very good with ala carte lunches most days… they will even make a picnic up for you if you go out in a car for the day! Thank you so much for making our holiday amazing to all staff at The House! I even cried on the way to the airport The only slight worry is after the refurb you may price us out and we won’t be able to visit…that really would be a shame. Keep it real Marriot!
