Orcas Hotel

The oldest hotel on the island. Located very conveniently across from the ferry landing. Save some money and walk on the ferry and rent mopeds for an adventure around the island. No Tv's, no phones, no refrigerator, coffee maker, or microwave - in room. Read picture captions for a little history of where you're staying. Bring a good book and walking shoes.

Wow- can’t express how much we enjoyed our stay. Only one night and we can’t stop talking about it! Each member of the staff was so genuine and warm, we just wanted to continue getting to know them. You can tell this is a very special place to work and a special place to be because of the care the employees put into their jobs. Ryan was so easy to talk to and made us feel like we’ve been friends for years! Shauna made our stay so comfortable and was so inviting. The rooms are gorgeous and have a classic elegant feel. The flowers on the lawn were blooming- perfect weather to enjoy a nice latte outside. This is a very special place- cannot recommend a stay enough, we already planned our next. Make sure to spend some time with Mr. Lily, the sweetest kitty while you’re there!

Beautiful hotel! I enjoyed our stay here very much. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the linens felt like they were high-quality. The cons of staying there are, it’s quite noisy with people above you. Also, there’s no coffee maker, no refrigerator, no microwave no nothing in the room to make food with. Theres a cafe downstairs, but the food is awful! The pros definitely out number the cons, with an incredible view from rooms of the ocean. A lovely bathroom with a very deep and nice relaxing tub. The bed was luxurious! I slept great, despite the noise upstairs.

I spent a night at the Orcas Hotel in December, and I thought it was awesome. The hotel is a historic building that retains all the charm of history. If you expect a 5 start Riz experience, then this is not the place. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel has a nice cafe and dining room with a bar. The parlor is a great place for a game of chess or to read one of the books in their library. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is across the street from the only ferry landing so if you need to catch an early ferry or you just need a place to stay that is near the ferry this is a good choice. I would recommend this for folks the experience of an old-style historic hotel.

We absolutely loved the Orcas Hotel, sushi Saturday, and Jazz Supper Club at Norbu in the hotel. What a relaxing, delightful stay. The staff are so welcoming and gracious. We felt like we went back in time. Especially loved the Dixieland Jazz playing in our room when we arrived. What a treasure.

I think I've written perhaps 2 "bad" reviews for hotels or restaurants over many years. I hate to do it. But this was a dirty, dusty, overpriced failure. Every part of this room was covered in dust. The shower curtain stained (my wife bought a new one for them). The bed linens were threadbare, bed uncomfortable, furniture old, dilapidated, unstable. The toilet and sink were updated but the shower was not. Carpet stained. Room tiny. The building is old and historic. I get that, and pouring some real money into it could make it stellar. Nice library with cookbooks galore, but dust flew off the books when you picked them up. The little fan unit we turned off upon arrival after seeing the filter clogged with dust, dirt and God knows what. For the price, a very poor value. We expected no TV. But perhaps some coffee?? On day one the nice young barista said "it's on the house" since we stayed there. But morning 2 and 3 rolled around and we were charged. Fairly quiet outside after the ferry shut down at night, but room noise from other rooms. I might have asked for some compensation, but I understand the hardship the travel industry has had with the pandemic. I would never consider staying here again. Restaurant for dinner closed when we were there.
