The Roade House can be found in the small village of Roade across the motorway from Northampton. Our breakfast was well cooked, hot and served with a friendly smile. Quality of the ingredients felt moderate to good, which meant that it felt expensive. There are other options in the villages near by that I will probably try before rushing back.

Lovely comfortable hotel for a quick weekend break. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Our host Paul was wonderful and very patient with my children. Such a great hotel and would definitely recommend for a short stay. We also managed to hide easter eggs in the garden on the morning and generally loved our stay.

The room was lovely and quiet although the perfumed smell was a bit strong. We wanted a twin room so the comfortable bed was readily separated . Beware though that the resulting beds were 2ft 5ins which is really narrow. Bathroom was very nicely done but as quite elderly could have used grab bars on the bath and a bath mat. The cafe was very pleasant and the staff / owner very helpful.

Checked in to be greated by a very heavy smell of dogs. It was very strong and we mentioned it to the staff who said they were pet friendly. We like animals but it was too much for us. The quadruple bed room was actually two singles pushed together as a double, and a cot futon bed. No sign of the fourth bed. The tea bags were water stained, and the tray and glasses were dirty. We used our own glasses and tea bags. There was no hot water for a shower, or even a shower mat, so after a uncomfortable night we left early for home. The room looked fine and the bathroom too but that was about it. No offer of compensation or partial refund just a sorry it was not what we expected. Loked great on the internet but not in practice sadly. Had so much better for paying lots less for 1 night.

We had family members visiting us in the village last night so we booked The Roade House as living in the village we quite often pop into the cafe - with no complaints. After seeing it on four in a bed we suggested they stay there rather than other hotels in Northampton they have previously stayed at. Room was lovely size and clean. Unfortunately though , they checked out this morning before 7.30am and came to ours to use our shower/bath as they have had no hot water/low pressure water since checkin in - the toilet was also flushing on low pressure and ‘something’ came up from the drains which was impossible to flush back down from a previous guest.

The Roade House Hotel recently helped us celebrate our wedding in style! Providing a romantic backdrop for a warm and cosy evening meal and entertainment. The day ran smoothly and exceeded our expectations thanks to the efforts of all members of staff involved on the day, making family and friends welcome. A good nights sleep was had by all in the immaculately presentend bedrooms and a much needed tasty breakfast greatly recieved the following morning by our large party of guests. A gem of a place, Roade are lucky to have!

We have just returned from an amazing weekend at Roade House celebrating my Sister’s 40th birthday. Paul and Maxine put together a tailor made package for us which included yoga, meals, over night stay and breakfast. Like a mini retreat! Nothing was too much trouble and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable- 4 of us sharing a large room and there was plenty of space. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Surrounding area was very quiet, no noise from other rooms etc. Maxine’s yoga classes were of course a highlight and breakfast was very tasty. The hotel and the cafe were very busy off the back of Four in a Bed however nothing was too much trouble.

Very poor owner came across rude Seem to have chip on his shoulder Must be his wife needs a good hair brush looked like she just woken up Room was clean Hair on bed sheet and dead flys 2 on window Expensive for what you get Better value else where 6/10 Breakfast ingredients tasted cheap
