The hotel is conveniently located. The room was clean and had everything you would expect from a Premier Inn. The restaurant however was a different matter. When we arrived, there were two other people already seated. Our order was taken by quite possibly the most disinterested person I have ever come across. We ordered food and two drinks, and bearing in mind how quiet the place was, we were surprised that 20 minutes later, our drinks had still not arrived. The waiter, when he eventually reappeared was reminded about them and he duly returned with the drinks, including highly visible lipstick all around the rim of my glass. The food was uninspiring. The fried eggs on my mixed grill were half fried and still had lots of uncooked egg white, the chicken wings my partner had were dry and tasteless. Now the car park, which I know is run by a private company, but every time you leave the car park, regardless of how long you have been there, it costs £14. So if you arrive at the hotel and check in, get ready and then drive to meet friends, you must pay £14. When you return to the hotel, you will need to pay another £14 when you leave again. Makes a reasonably priced hotel stay a lot more expensive.
