Lighthouse Cottage (Shared Facilities)

This B&B is exactly what it says on the tin. I’m really not sure why certain people are moaning about things like a shared bathroom when that is clearly indicated on all of the standard booking platforms for this property! If you don’t want to share a bathroom, don’t book it! It doesn’t advertise big communal areas or living Spaces either. This is my second stay here and the photos are in no way misleading. You get a quaint comfortable room with great views from the windows across the countryside and can see the sea in the distance when it’s clear. It’s an old cottage, but modernised, scrupulously clean and managed very well by Angus. If you want breakfast, you pay for it on booking. By the way, the breakfast is lovely and very reasonable. Fresh salmon is available also. There is more than ample parking at the side of the property if people park sensibly. Accommodation is sparse on Skye and I highly recommend you book early to avoid disappointment and get the best price. I found direct booking on his website to be cheaper. It’s a great base to travel locally around Skye and this B&B is entirely in keeping with the Isle of Skye. Angus was a great host and very accommodating. Throughly recommend and will stay here again on my next visit to Skye.

We booked this wanting the living space and the backyard patio shown in these pictures. They do not exist. I will attach pictures. It’s an old farm house, each room has a locking door, so you are renting just a bedroom. Rooms full of knick knacks and stuff. Be aware that shared facilities means 8 people using 2 bathrooms. Only 1 shower. Down stairs bathroom had a high chair, ironing board and Angus’ private clothing. Angus was very nice and accommodating. But the pictures posted by owner here are only party correct!

Angus is a very nice host, the Cottage itself is offering all you need and is well situated to explore the Isle of Skye. Breakfast is served by Angus in the rooms as there is no community room. Only disadvantage in my opinion that you can not open the Windows in your room, but we have also not asked Angus for the key.

Just spent a wonderful week in caro's cottage at cartole cottages, what a truly great place to stay, the hosts could not have been better and the accommodation was so well equipped it puts my home to shame! Seriously if you're looking for a holiday in this part of the country I think you would be hard pressed to find better, thank you both and look forward to returning again!

Just stayed at Saetr Cottage and what a lovely break it was! Cottage and surroundings are beautiful, so peaceful sitting out in the landscaped garden listening to the birds. The owners provide everything you need, including wifi and Netflix. If you're looking for a relaxing break with plenty of scenery then this cottage is ideal. Really enjoyed our stay here (just would have liked a shop within walking distance)
