The front desk were very accomodating and courteous. We had a great sleep. The location was perfect. Unfortunately, my aunt lost her gold wedding ring in her room after the housekeeping cleaned their room. The front desk assisted us but still it was not found

The hotel is in an okay location and conveniently close to a bus stop and the super market, so transport was easy. However, the breakfast menu did not change during my 5-night stay, which became repetitive. Room service is only available for limited hours, so plan accordingly. If you’re looking for a simple, budget-friendly stay and don’t mind minimal variety in amenities, this place does the job.

Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh - City West by IHG Standard Room with Double Bed Stayed: Jan 27-28, 2026 | Rating: 3.5/5 Staff were really nice and helpful, sorting everything with a smile—top-notch service all around. Location was good, not too far from the city centre with solid bus connections right nearby for easy trips into Edinburgh. Room was comfortable and clean, perfect for a quick overnight. Breakfast included but honestly didn't like it much—basic and underwhelming. Paid £53, which felt steep; I'd say it deserves up to £40 max for the value. Still, solid pick for convenience.

Lovely staff and room very nice. Breakfast good with lovely coffee. Bus 43 from and to city centre. Bed very comfortable with very clean sheets and towels. Second time staying to visit nearby relatives. Thankyou to all staff.

Absolute nightmare of an experience. First, upon entering the room, I immediately found someone else's hair on the bed sheets. The female receptionist's attitude was absolutely appalling. She flat-out told me, 'I won't change your room. I can either change the sheets for you and you continue staying, or you can cancel your reservation.' When I told her she was being rude, she actually replied, 'Yes, because you asking for a room change is rude.' This 'lady' even explicitly stated that because we were only staying for one night, we were *stuck* with a room right by the elevator and an inner-facing window with no view. I've never encountered anything so unbelievably ridiculous. Steer clear of this place.

The twin room was located on the M floor, which appears to be an equipment level. We experienced severe noise from outdoor AC units and a low-frequency hum from the kitchen ventilation ducts, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. Additionally, the room had just been renovated and painted, leaving a strong, lingering smell. I strongly recommend choosing a different room type.
