Pros: Great location, within easy walking distance to most Edinburgh attractions, such as Edinburgh castle, royal mile, princess street, Beverly station, grass market and so on. Friendly staff, relatively new building and facilities. Cons: the room cannot be ventilated as the window is fixed. My room was very smelly, smells like dogs.

Services attitude of most of staff is not up to expectations. Not helpful, initiative and sincere. With the only exception of the lady duty manager who serviced us in the first evening upon boarding. Breakfast and dinner combo package is a steal indeed. Very nice and cost effective.

Its a Premier INN, a low cost, basic hotel room. The rooms are a good size but the double bed has only two pillows. There was only one large towel in the room. There is no fridge. We were given only one room key which can be a bit annoying. It has minimal service, minimal staff, you can self check-in and just drop the keys to check out. It is Ok if you are clear on what you are getting.

You need to pay 10 pounds for early check-in at the hotel. The location is good and the Royal Mile is behind it. Basic service needs can be met. This chain does not provide slippers.

The environment is very good, the breakfast is good, and you need to bring your own toiletries.

The surrounding of the hotel is under construction recently, so it is a little hard to find, but the environment, facilities and services are not bad, and there is no dissatisfaction.

Location, price and service were all good. In particular, the postcards and chocolate bars handwritten by the CEO were impressive. If I go to Edinburgh next time, I definitely want to go back to this hotel. It was remodeled and the cleanliness was also very good. There is only one thing, the name has changed, but it is a bit regretful that I was lost in front of the old hotel name on Trip.com.

This is a convenient place to stay when in Edinburgh. All Staff were so lovely and helpful and went out of our way to accommodate our request. The breakfast is a definite to set you up for the day. Our room was cosy and had a great shower. Liked that there was a subdued light in the bathroom to leave on overnight.

Just there on an overnight stay for a friend's birthday party. The room was clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable - about as expected for a Premier Inn. However, the extractor fan for the bathroom goes off whenever the bathroom door is opened and sounds like a 747 in the bedroom area for about 5mins after. This is obviously a long term problem in all the rooms as there was a sign in the lifts (see photo). As someone who gets up to pee a few times in the night this drove me mad and kept my partner awake as well. These should be on humidistats so they go off only when needed. Sadly this means that I am unlikely to recommend or stay here again.

Good location. Proper cleaning. Comfortable beds and adequate room size for 1 person. (for 2 people I would say a little fair). Friendly staff. THERE IS NO WIFI and they didn't fix it in the 3 nights I was at the hotel. I think it's an important problem that they need to solve. Or at least warn in advance. And above all, lower the price due to this problem until they solve it.

We booked as a party of 10 people sharing 5 twin rooms. Reception was very friendly and stored our bags while we went walking. Our rooms were standard Premier Inn rooms, they were far too warm through the night and we couldnt turn it down below 19 degrees. We had chocolates left on our beds which was a nice touch though. We had booked the meal deal with breakfast and evening meal, but when we came to book a table we were told we couldn't eat at the same time. We could all sit down at the same time, but at tables of 4 people and another of 6 people and we had to eat at separate times which we found bizarre. Apparently they had to bring a chef in from another hotel and they only had a small kitchen! What sort of Chef can't cater for 10 people at once? Breakfast was just ridiculous, as the chef couldn't cope with the demands and looked thoroughly miserable. There was no chance of getting a full English breakfast as there was only a few items available at a time. We would stay here again as it's in a great location but we definitely won't be eating there again.

We have just stayed here for my birthday. We paid extra for one of the bigger rooms and that is a 100% must if you're staying with more than just yourself. The rooms are fine if you want to be out all day. When first arriving we paid the £10 fee to get early check in but Upon arriving in the room found it smelt of damp and mould. When looking we found a large amount in the corner of the room. The hotel was good an immediately changed our room to a much less smelly one. There was a little mould in the shower though. Be aware the do not disturb button doesn't stay on permanently we popped out only to find our room has been visited. Staff overall were nice but one woman who I think worked primarily in the bar area was extremely rude when we asked for extra pillows. She might want to learn how to roll her eyes more discreetly in future when given a simple request. It's not as bad as reviews say. Location is great. It's been super quiet for us but we have stayed during the week. Costa literally outside and all major landmarks a short walk away. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Nothing fancy but perfect for a night or two away.
