I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The view from the window was absolutely amazing and really made my day — waking up to such a beautiful scene instantly put me in a great mood. The front desk staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional, which made check-in and communication very smooth. The Christmas decorations were stunning and created such a warm, festive atmosphere throughout the hotel. The room was very spacious, spotlessly clean, and extremely comfortable. Overall, this stay made me feel relaxed and genuinely happy. I would definitely love to come back and highly recommend this hotel to others.

The location is convenient, right next to Edinburgh train station, but there's a risk of temporary road closures. The stairs next to the hotel are much closer to the train station, but not ideal for travelers with suitcases. The rooms are generally clean, but not very large. Since we couldn't book a room for two consecutive nights, we had to change rooms midway through our trip. However, for some reason, our rooms were both on the 7th floor (top floor), and the elevator only goes up to the 6th floor. So we had to carry our suitcases up and down twice, which was very strenuous and frustrating.

The hotel is in a prime location, just steps from St. Giles' Cathedral on the Royal Mile. The room was spacious, with a stunning view, facing the Scott Monument. It also had a kitchenette, refrigerator, and dishwasher (though we didn't use them). All amenities were L'Occitane, and the room was cleaned daily with hotel-quality linens. The only downside was that the map indicated the train station was a 6-minute walk, but half the walk was up stairs. As in Chongqing, lugging luggage up the stairs wasn't an easy 6-minute walk. The hotel staff told us it was possible to take the flat route, but it would add at least 20 minutes to the detour, and the slope was quite steep. So, to save time, we took the stairs. I counted them, and there were 140, a typical feature of this city. A 50-pound credit card authorization was required for check-in, and it hasn't been refunded yet.
