Apex City of Edinburgh Hotel

Great location, right below the castle, and our room had a direct view of it. Very convenient for getting around. The hotel thoughtfully provided little rubber duckies and a coloring book for the kids.

Great location, service, and breakfast!

I chose the Apex hotel for my trip to Edinburgh this time. It felt quite new and the rooms were considered large for the UK. I was traveling with my parents, so we opted for a family room. The sofa bed was already set up for us in advance and was also quite spacious. The breakfast was a mix of buffet and à la carte. Each person could order one dish, and the three of us chose different options. They all tasted pretty good, and even though it was a Western-style breakfast, it was very filling. The location is on Princes Street, which made getting around super convenient.

The location is excellent, convenient for travelers mainly exploring the old town. However, if you're returning from the new town, you'll still have to walk a bit after getting off the bus. The hotel locks its doors at night, requiring a room card for entry, which can be confusing for guests who haven't checked in yet. The staff were polite, and luggage storage service was available. Overall, it was a good experience.

The hotel offers good comfort and convenient transportation. There are bus stops and tourist buses right outside, along with many dining options. It's best to take a taxi or bus directly from the train station to the hotel. Definitely don't try to walk according to navigation; it's just a continuous series of very high stairs.
