Die Wegführung auf dem Break-Autohof zum Hotel ist etwas umständlich. Das hätte man einfacher machen können. Das Holiday Inn Express befindet sich auf über dem Shop bzw. Restaurant vom Autohof. Der dortige Empfang war sehr freundlich. Der Check in verlief relativ schnell. Das Zimmer und Bad waren zwar typisch Holiday Inn Express klein, aber sehr sauber und ruhig. Was uns hier nicht gefallen hat war, dass das Zimmer und Bad recht kühl waren. Die Möglichkeit es aufzuwären war an dem dafür gedachten Zimmer-Temperaturregler nicht möglich. Hierfür gibt es einen klaren Punktabzug unserer Bewertung. Ebenso einen Punktabzug für das Frühstücksbuffet. Das im Holiday Inn Express Hamburg-Süd empfanden wir als das schlechteste, was wir bisher von den Frühstücksbuffets der Holiday Inn Express Häusern in Deutschland kannten. Die ”normalen” Brötchen waren um 09.00 Uhr schon nicht mehr vorhanden. Die Aussage vom Personal ”wir werden noch welche nachbestellen” nutzte uns da auch nichts. Nachlegen von Wurst bzw. Käse lief jeweils nur schleppend und das, obwohl nur wenig Gäste im Frühstücksbereich waren. Rührei gab hier keins. Ebenso wie das Zimmer, war auch der Frühstücksbereich zu kühl zum verweilen. Das Hotel ist noch relativ neu und natürlich können da noch immer ”Kinderkrankheiten” vorkommen. Aber es gibt solche, die sollten erst gar nicht vorkommen!

The hotel is located in the middle of Lüneburger Heide, and the standard rooms are also large enough and nicely furnished. The size of the hotel is not unpleasant because of the slightly unangular architecture and various (very beautifully furnished) breakfast rooms. The outdoor area is very extensive, maintained and offers postcards. Eating and drinking are OK, but clearly too expensive. With regard to staff there were huge differences. nearly all the servers were very careful and friendly, individuals but also rejecting and unfriendly. We found it partly irritating that visitors who were not hotel guests were banned a place for a cup of coffee, although apparently many tables were (and remained) unpacked. If cafe and restaurant are only designed for hotel guests, you should communicate this way. Overall we have enjoyed the stay very much and are happy to come back.
