"We arrived on Saturday at the Herods Boutique Hotel in Eilat, planning to spend the Shavuot holiday there and celebrate a family birthday. We hoped to begin the holiday in a calm, pleasant atmosphere – but instead, we were met with a frustrating, disappointing, and ultimately unnecessary experience. We arrived at the hotel at 4:00 PM, knowing that check-in would be completed by 6:00 PM. In reality, we stood, waited, asked questions, and only received our room at 9:00 PM. The explanation we were given? The previous guests simply didn’t vacate the room – as if that’s our problem, and not the hotel’s responsibility. And what did we do during those five hours? We wandered the streets with a baby just a few months old who couldn’t fall asleep – tired, restless, and above all, sleep-deprived. Our daughter had to sleep with her grandparents, and they – elderly people who came to enjoy themselves – found themselves spending the night in a tense, cramped, and unpleasant situation. As for us, we just felt lost. And when we finally got the room? We discovered it was unclean – leftovers of rice, sunflower seed shells, cigarette butts on the balcony. Instead of a moment of relief – it was just another slap in the face. The staff was polite, but in practice, we received no real help, no solution, and no compensation. It felt like we were just left to deal with it on our own – on a night that was supposed to be the festive start to a special vacation. We arrived in good spirits, ready to celebrate – and left deeply disappointed. This is not how one expects to begin a vacation at a hotel that’s considered luxurious. What a shame. Truly a shame."

"I come for a 2 days holiday with my son . I pay 1300€ for 2 nights. In our room, we find cockroach They came to pick up the dirty towels, but they never left new one. The sun bed mattresses was so dirty that it was disgusting to lay down on them. most of the pool tower and the room towels was with yellow stamps , Everything was old and not well maintained The breakfast restaurant was under construction was not clan . Agin for the price that I pay it’s not worth it ."

"Very disappointed Bed experience for family vacation. Rooms without terraces. The rooms in bad condition and poor maintenance. The towels smell bad, the linen sheets are full of hair( not ours). No feedback or comments from the reception The food is below the average (compared to the high price of the stay). No ice in the pool , I had to get some ice by my self with my two years toddler in 45 Celsius! Defiantly last time here and Fatal hotels. Better to pay more and enjoy real vacation in Isrotel hotels."

"We have been guests of this hotel for the best part of 20 years already from when it was Club Med, sometimes just the 2 of us, at other times with our family of 8 to 10. In general it used to be very good but has progressively badly deteriorated. The beach is no longer private. The quality and variety of cocktails is very poor and abysmal. Staff at reception is good, elsewhere grumpy and acting as if doing you a favour. The pool staff is excellent, pool entrainment poor. Evening entertainment good in general. We booked for 4 nights. On arrival we requested an upgrade as the hotel was half empty. We expressed our gratitude to the reception staff who agreed. That’s when the problems started. Room 923 was malodorous, upon complaining a cleaner arrived with a bathroom spray. It didn’t help. On the following morning we again complained. A technician checked the air vents and found them in good order. Several hours later at around 10 pm, another technician arrives to check the sewage. Both technicians acknowledged the malodorous state of the room and a leak of water from the sink, when one actually said: it seems your holiday is gone! We demanded that the manager comes to see the state of the room. After almost 3days of complaints, the very efficient Ophira came, saw and smelt it all and offered a different room the standard of which is lower than we originally booked. We refused and protested vehemently. Ophira was adamant that there are no other rooms, having experienced the literally flooding of the room and its stink. On the morning of our last day, Ophira phoned to say that the boss has agreed to move us to a room similar to the one we are in, suddenly Ophira found a room!!!, moreover the hotel will compensate us with 10% cash refund and 30% on the next booking. On the morning before we left we went to finalise the compensation, ophira took our details (on a yellow A4), but wouldn’t give us anything in writing. One month after we had left, we had not heard from the hotel. We called Ophira who requested again our details, and another month later, after phoning and rephoning an email duly arrived, saying the hotel will honour the 30% but no mention of the 10% cash refund. All our calls and emails to rectify the hotel’s mistake and failure, remain to this day unanswered. Ophira has blocked our phone calls. Basically there’s nothing more we can do, just to warn other guests. Tiny complaints are probably dealt with promptly. Major complaints are ignored till you spill your blood."

"Having not visited for many years, I was disappointed by the attitude of the staff. There was never a smile and they were not very welcoming. My partner and I both had a classic massage and the oil/butter they used was cold. It was not preheated like I'm used to in a spa. Afterwards I was told that I should have paid more for a different massage if this was my expectation and that we should have told the masseuse to warm the oil if it was cold. No apology, no service, they just implied it was our problem. Very disappointing, especially for a hotel of this standard."

Great hotel , excellent food, super room 1212 on 12th floor, Red Sea and promenade also exclusive! All was superb! We are obligatory to visit Eilat again and again in Fatal !!!"

"I would like to leave a huge thank you to Leonardo Plaza Eilat. And not just for a good vacation — but for the truly human kindness and care I received there, which I honestly will never forget. Before my trip, Etti personally called me from the hotel and asked if I had any special requests: extra pillows, additional comfort, or anything else I might need during my stay. After so many years of traveling around Israel and the world, I can honestly say that almost no hotel has ever done that for me before. From that very moment, I already felt genuinely cared for. When we arrived, we were welcomed in the most wonderful way. We received a room upgrade, and in the room there were bottles of water, wine, and everything was spotless, neat, and prepared with attention to every detail. At the reception desk we were gifted complimentary dinners, and my daughter — who came to Eilat for a dance competition — kept receiving sweet surprises throughout our stay: ice cream vouchers, drinks, little gifts, and so many warm words of encouragement. Every staff member was genuinely excited for her, congratulating and supporting her, and it was incredibly touching. No, this hotel is not some ultra-luxury, brand-new five-star resort. But I have to say honestly: the level of service, warmth, and genuine care we experienced here was far beyond many expensive luxury hotels I have visited around the world. Unfortunately, our first room faced the promenade, where there was loud music, karaoke, and nightlife until very late at night, and I barely slept. But the truth is, it was not only because of the noise itself. The past weeks in Israel have been emotionally very difficult for many of us, and after everything we had experienced, my nervous system had become extremely sensitive. Many people probably would not even have noticed the sounds outside, but in that emotional state even the smallest noise felt overwhelming to me. The next morning I came down to reception in tears — not because anyone treated me badly, but simply because I was emotionally exhausted. And that was the moment when I truly saw how extraordinary this hotel team is. I was treated with such kindness, understanding, patience, and compassion that it honestly touched me deeply. They immediately moved us to a beautiful quiet room with an amazing view, once again prepared thoughtful gifts for us — fruits, water, wine, sweets — and even offered us lunch vouchers. But more importantly than any gift, they made me feel that they sincerely wanted to help from the heart. And I noticed something very important: it was not only toward me. I watched how the staff interacted with other guests as well — with the same warmth, respect, patience, and humanity. I would especially like to thank Etti and the entire team who worked during our stay. Unfortunately, I cannot remember every single name, but every single person we encountered was simply wonderful. You gave me much more than good service. You gave me com"

" I had a truly memorable stay at Leonardo club in Eilat. While I unfortunately misplaced my wallet during my visit, the staff were incredibly helpful and diligent, and they managed to locate and return it to me. Their honesty and efficiency were greatly appreciated. Beyond that, the room was comfortable, food was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel."

"The rooms were unclean to say the least, unpleasant smell and very poor service. No service for suitcases or phone to order them. The coffee machine was poor and most of time in no condition to work. In my opinion this is 2 stars hotel not 4 stars."
