Firstly, we checked in, and our room for 3 was a tiny room. Couldn't even move next to the beds. I think they have just added an extra bed next to the 2 that were in the room. The room, on 6th floor, no. 639 to be avoided. You can hear literally everything. All the traffic, cars, buses, and motorbikes speeding up to climb the hill. The music is on the bar below... terrible! After 3 nights with no sleep, when we were like zombies, angry and frustrated, asking several times for a change in room... we were told to address it to the head receptionist, Diana. An absolute nightmare person! Impolite, unprofessional, rude, useless! In the end, the hotel manager, Javier, stepped in and sorted us out. Moved to no. 523 and the rest of our holiday, was without incidents. Pluses: David, from reception, a lovely and friendly gentleman. Daniel, the guy in the restaurant as well. Chef Gabriel (Italian gentleman), an amazing person. Smiley, friendly and a brilliant cook! Ana Maria, the cleaning lady, an absolute jewellery of a woman! Way mooore friendly and helpful than the head receptionist, Diana!! Delicious and very diverse food. Very clean rooms, sheets, towels. Overall a good hotel for a low budget, but definitely not 3 stars! Maybe 2? No fridge in the room, no hairdryer in the bathrooms.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I saw comments about cleaning the rooms, during our stay our room was always clean and they exchanged towels and towels every day. The windows of our room were not closed well and the ac I think it didn't work. If we were to bath after 21:00 the water wasn't too hot. With food, it was generally good but most were fries and grilled. They could have a variety of fruits. At dinner and lunch the only fruits were oranges and apples. At breakfast they served only one piece of fruit. The lunches were very weak. Only sandwiches, cakes and croasans in miniature. The bar had a machine to serve coffee, coffee milk and chocolate, and the sandwiches were not well served, two form bread feet, one cheese feet and Alface. The breakfast was served only from 8:00 a.m. and I think they could start earlier. Two trips we were going to have to wait for the bus at 8:25 (the trips were not from the hotel). The dinner was closed at 21:30, which I think is early, and the night was always animated and playing, and the official who was responsible did a good job because everyone was animated with these jokes. Then, when he was not, there were other animations that were interesting. The sea was brave and there were areas that the flag was red. I think if it was good time it would be a good day because the water was really blue. The rest of the trips I was very well organized. I met very beautiful sites on the island. I advise you to go to Formentor.

Room ok., very dated but to sleep in and shower, it does the job. The beds are extremely hard and the pillows are not much better. Very powerful shower. Clean towels daily. Hotel is clean and nicely decorated. However what let's this place down is the food. Shockingly terrible. Not replenished for people that choose to come after 8pm, even thought the restaurant is open until 9.30pm. Came in one evening to find around 10 flies in the salad carrots. We sat down and my friend went to get some water from the juice machine and was shouted at and told no. They are only for breakfast and if we want a drink we must pay.!!!!! FOR WATER???? I have never heard anything so ridiculous. The coffee and juice machines should be available during both breakfast and dinner. But the hotel is only interested in making money by selling drinks at dinner time and so therefore it's forbidden to have some water or a coffee with your meal. The staff were rude and blatantly told us that we couldn't have water because they won't make money. The hotel is in a good location. This is my 2nd time staying here. Having previously stayed when it was an all inclusive hotel. I will not return as no human should be denied water that is essentially free. We paid to stay here, we didn't not just walk in off the street, so to be denied water is a joke. We were not asking for wine, coke, etc. WATER!!!!

We couldn’t have been happier with our hotel and where it was. It was busy but still a nice place. We had a warm welcome from reception with lots of info. Despite being early for check in our room was ready. Loved the balcony and big bed. Food was great, the cakes and yoghurt was so creamy. Managed to do as much sunbathing on the beach as shopping in the town, got best of both. This was just a great place for us, glad we did the research.
Hotel Whala!Fun

The whala! fun is located at the port of El Arenal in one of the slightly quiet streets. The hotel staff was quite friendly, premature and even speaking partly German. Although the rooms are quite small, but always clean and friendly furnished. Our personal highlight was the roof terrace that you have almost all alone at the end of September. It is perfect to spend the whole day, to be able to be disgusted by a cool drink from the bar or a small snack. The generous beds and the pool are invited to relax and even in the evening you can drink a drink and make the day cozy with a look at the beautiful port. Price-performance ratio could also convince us absolutely. Thank you!

It didn't let me but I'd give this 3 and a half stars. I'll do the positives first. Stayed for 7 days. The staff were all brilliant and friendly. The food and drinks were nice, no issues with that. Cleanliness was fine. No issues with that at all. Cleaners go in rooms daily. Pool side, bar, restaurant area, reception and waiting area were all spotless and well maintained. Location is fabulous. Turn right, cross the road at the end and the beech is right there. I suggest using the one to the left of the little car park. Or if you fancy a couple mile walk, go to the other side of the area (you'll know when you see the seafront) and it's great that side. Sadly there's some negatives. 1. The pool is very small and very cold. Really badly located. It's surrounded by large buildings so gets no sunlight. A hotel located where this is, it should really be on the roof to get full benefits of the warm weather. The ocean is literally warmer. Didn't see anyone even use the pool. Bit gutted about this as it would have been nice to relax in and around the pool with the kids, but we just went to the sea instead. 2. The rooms were pretty small and there's no option for more than 3 people per room which we weren't told as we have a family of 4. So my partner and I had to split up and have a kid each despite booking a family room. Not the end of the world I know but should be specifically said on booking that we'd have to gave 2 rooms fitting 2 people. The shower we had was open as in no door or curtain and square so the shower literally had no choice but to spill onto the main bathroom floor right next to the toilet. My partners room had a sort of L shaped shower which was far bigger as there was a lot more wall to stop the water getting onto the floor. Very spacious. We just showered there all week. Lastly unless you had a balcony room, the view is just horrible. 3. The noise was ridiculous. I dont expect pure silence, but this was really bad. Very thin walls too, could hear very loudly when the next room went to the toilet for instance. Seems to be a hotel for young party goers, which is fine, but wish we had known as it isn't really suited for families. It's more of a base hotel for people who just want to go out and drink all day. 4. The lifts did not feel safe. The small one broke at least 3 times that I heard (the alarm is extremely loud). You can hear the lift scraping against something on about floor 3 which doesn't sound safe. That's it for the hotel. It isn't bad, but felt was slightly mislead when booking the rooms and very let down with the pool and too noisy for us. I'd say if you are planning to stay here, it's better to be used as a base for those out wanting to party a lot. In my youth, this would have been perfect. Now for some info on the area itself to be weary of(nothing to do with hotel) There's a heck of a lot (and I mean a lot) of people walking about all over the sea front and shop fronts trying to sell you cheap knoc
