Melidron Hotel ★★★

"I am quite sad that I have to write this review. First stayed at the Melidron in June 2023 and had a great time. But this stay was not the same. I know the hotel is in the process of being sold and I am well aware that our stay was towards the end of the season, but that is no excuse for not making an effort for the paying guests. For example, when we visited last year, bread was delivered every morning by the local baker. It was lovely and we went to breakfast every morning looking forward to eating the very fresh bread. This time we were greeted by supermarket sliced loaves - why? Not the same experience at all. Felt overall the breakfasts were not as nice as last time. The bar was not fully stocked either - no Diet Coke or Pepsi (don't drink full sugar drinks) and the wine I enjoyed during my last visit ran out the first day I was there. I kept being promised that they would get some more but after asking each day for the first 4 or 5 days of the holiday, I gave up. The lady who did the food at breakfast and lunchtimes left 2 days after we got there (and was not replaced) so there was only a very limited lunchtime menu available between 12.30 and 3.30. Last year the food available each lunchtime was great and we spend quite a few days eating there. This time we chose to eat elsewhere every day. Wendy was as helpful as she could be, cleaners did a good job but we left for the UK feeling that our stay was not what we had hoped and expected based on our previous visit."

"I can't describe in words how charming this place is. It gets under your skin and makes you wish you could stay forever. It is like a little community. most guests have been many times and know one another. I myself have made friends here and look forward to seeing them next year! Despina and her family are delightful people. They make you feel so special and so welcome. The Cats ....well they are the star of the show. Don't book here if you don't enjoy the company of cats ! Great fresh cooked food at the lovely homely bar area , very good prices too. Rooms are great, everything you may need . Efrosini books up FAST , if you manage to get a spot, you've hit the jackpot. It's heaven. Peace and quiet, no shortage of sunbeds, great company, lots of cats , wild horses who visit, hedgehogs snuffling around at night. Beautiful orchard heavy with fruit. You won't regret visiting."

"I had booked a stay at La Skala Vista, but to my shock, I received an email stating that due to a "system failure," my reservation had never gone through, and both of my bookings were canceled. The worst part? This has been booked for 2 months. leaving me with no alternatives for my planned dates with our flights already booked. Their response was nothing but an apology and a suggestion to change my travel dates, but unfortunately, they had no availability for the period I originally planned. This lack of accountability and professionalism is unacceptable. A proper hotel should ensure that its reservation system functions correctly and, in case of an error, offer real solutions rather than just an apology. We are now left as a group of 6 with no hotel and are unable to find availability in Skala. The likelihood being the holiday will have to be cancelled and we will loose the price of the flights. I am extremely disappointed with the way this was handled. If you are considering booking here, be aware that your reservation might not be honored due to "system failures." I will certainly think twice before booking with them again. Would NOT recommend."
