"I done alot of researching to find the perfect small and friendly hotel in Skala and I think the Melidron fits the bill. Everything was great , rooms are very spacious and kept spotlessly clean eveyday! Breakfast was ample , who needs a full English in Greece. The pool was lovely and never any problems getting beds. It was really hot but the staff all kept smiling. Wendy is on hand for any information you might need. Thank you Melidron for helping make our first visit to Kefalonia perfect."

"I can't describe in words how charming this place is. It gets under your skin and makes you wish you could stay forever. It is like a little community. most guests have been many times and know one another. I myself have made friends here and look forward to seeing them next year! Despina and her family are delightful people. They make you feel so special and so welcome. The Cats ....well they are the star of the show. Don't book here if you don't enjoy the company of cats ! Great fresh cooked food at the lovely homely bar area , very good prices too. Rooms are great, everything you may need . Efrosini books up FAST , if you manage to get a spot, you've hit the jackpot. It's heaven. Peace and quiet, no shortage of sunbeds, great company, lots of cats , wild horses who visit, hedgehogs snuffling around at night. Beautiful orchard heavy with fruit. You won't regret visiting."

"We had a lovely stay at the Makis Hotel. My husband, myself and my eighteen year old daughter had a triple occupancy room. Our room didn't have a view (side of a building where the air conditioning units were), but the room was very clean and modern. Breakfast was very nice, food from the bar at lunchtime was also very good. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly. The hotel is perfectly placed right on top of the beach and a five minute stroll to the main part of the village. I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend as a great base for your Skala holiday."

"This was my first time to this hotel and Kethalonia. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean albeit a little tired. The bed was extremely comfortable . The buffet breakfast offering provided a varied selection of hot and cold food. The hot food was Luke warm so I guess an early breakfast would be my advice. The swimming pool was fantastic certainly a highlight of the village style hotel. The staff were always helpful . Evelyn in particular was outstanding. She booked trips and restaurants. Nothing was too much trouble.She alone would be my reason to return . Thank you Evelyn."

"The owner was there to meet us and take us to our room on the first floor overlooking the harbour. Good size balcony which caught the morning sun. Lovely view of the harbour. Very quiet location but you really need a car to get about as it is on the top of a steep hill."

"Short rating 3/5: This is a rundown hotel, which is a shame because it is exceptionally beautifully located and has a large swimming pool. Pros: + beautiful location and view + large swimming pool, no crowds + good food (except for Asian evening) + grill, feta, olive oil and tzatziki + friendly service + Whisky quite OK + There are no ashtrays and people don't smoke by the pool Cons - not cleaned around the pool, algae on the edges, dirty tiles, tables and sunbeds - neglected garden and hotel grounds - rooms need to be refreshed and replaced witth part of equipment - It happened to finish a meal before someone came up to offer drinks - The smell of sewage by the pool Dear managers. In comments from months ago, you write that you have passed comments about cleanliness to respective staff, but it is still dirty. I've attached some photos. This is not what you expect to see in a 5-star resort."

"The location is very convenient. Although it is above a restaurant and on the Main Street it is quiet at night. The bed is very comfortable and the room is extremely clean. Basic but had every we need for our stay. The lady Nela receptionist is so helpful and friendly and the cleaner always says hello. We stayed here after a cock up where our original studios were overbooked and lucky for us there was room here for our stay. A blessing in disguise as the original place was not as nice as here. "This hotel and staff were amazing and you felt like part of the family whilst we were there rather than just guests. Anastasia and the team at the bar were brilliant. So friendly, caring and brilliant. Anastasia went that extra mile to help one of us when we had a problem with a swollen arm by providing ice and TLC. Absolutely amazing. The view from the hotel was incredible, the food in the restaurant, the mini bus to town and back was fantastic. Thank you everyone for making our first visit to Skala and Kefalonia a memorable one. "All I can say is wow! Stunning hotel with beautiful views. Amazing pool area and bar. Staff can not do enough for you . Lovely clean rooms . The staff are mainly family and are all so polite and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Super local tavernas and a beautiful beach front just 10 mins walk. If I could come back every year I would. Highly recommend if you like to just relax and chill and have a lovely quiet holiday in the sun x"

"First time we have stayed in a Superior Studio so didn't know what to expect. On the plus side rooms are very clean. Location is great. Mini market and restaurants within 10-15 min walk. On the down side. No shower gel or shampoo etc. Kettle yes but no T bags coffee milk or sugar. Hot plate provided to cook on but no cooking implements utensils etc. Our fault for not checking beforehand I suppose! On the whole a very nice stay but watch out for 33 eu hotel tax, 33 eu for safe and 33 eu for Aircon. That's what we were greeted with before we got to the room which was on first floor so bags to carry up!"

"Wonderful apartments in an excellent location just off the main area and the little harbour, only a very short stroll to the beach where the majority of the tavernas and barsvare. We stayed for 2 weeks and couldn't fault a thing We stayed in a studio which had a small kitchen area with a hob/grill, kettle and coffee machine and a fridge with a small freezer compartment at the top. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery provided along with a sink We had 2 balconies, which all the rooms have, one is a private one looking onto the countryside and the other is at the front of the room where other guests come and go to their rooms There was a safe provided in the room, one big wardrobe with plenty of hangers and lots of storage space. The bathroom was typically greek with a shower curtain and the shower spray is fixed on the wall or you can just hold it, whatever your preference All the staff were amazing, everyone so friendly and helpful, special mention for the lady who maintained the room, she was so lovely and very thorough, she came in every day to empty bins, towels and bedding changed every few days, room was spotlessly clean We will definitely stay here again, it really was brilliant in every way"
