We stayed one night on our vacation at this hotel. It's by far the worst hotel we had in 12 nights! Our room looked like the sprinkler system had gone off or something. The wallpaper was all peeling badly at the seams and the wallpaper paste had run down the walls.. their attempt at repair was staples in several places. The ceiling light fixture had brown dried liquid in the globe. Both the sink and shower faucets leaked, the grout in the shower was moldy all around the parameter and there was hair in the tub. The sheets were very worn, rough and pilling. The bed was very hard. The other two Fairfields, the Courtyard Marriott, and the Holiday Inn Express on this trip were very nice.

The kitchen supplies for 2 people but only 1 chair and a tiny desk to eat at. Has a full-sized fridge, dishwasher, 2-burner non-intuitive glass-top range, MW oven and garbage disposal. Pots and pans are supplied, in new condition. Room lighting is barely adequate. The hot water failed, so cold showers. DirecTV has local channels only, no news, weather or movies, but plenty of shopping networks. The room is cleaned once a week, not resupplied and you have to take out your own trash to the dumpster. The air conditioning works as long as the room sensor sees you moving around enough. You can set the temperature but not whether it's in cooling or heating mode. There is free use of clothes washers, but they were all broken. Parking is adequate but if you have an EV, there are no Level 2 chargers. If you need a Level 3, the closest is 33 miles away on the tollway, 2 miles away if you have a Tesla. No one drives fast in Elkhart because every traffic light is red. Recommended if you plan to be here more than 2 days: We brought a dish rack for drying dishes, a sharp knife, laser pyrometer, salad scraper, paper towels, garbage bags, better facial tissues, a food cover for the MW oven, a Blu-ray player with HDMI cable and option to play movies from thumb drives. If you don't plan to cook in your room, there's no sense in staying in a place like this. As for being ”pet-friendly”, they charge $25/day/animal, but the rooms are way too small for any. We considered bringing our 2 guinea pigs but not at those rates and, other than the floor, there would have been nowhere to place their cage. We wished we had brought a folding chair. There is a recliner in the room but it was uncomfortable and difficult to eat in. It's like eating in your car. This is supposed to be a ”100% non-smoking facility.” Our room smelled strongly of tobacco. No amount of Fabreze could cover it up.

This hotel has price advantage and also the room is clean. Nearby this hotel, there are several restaurants in a walking distance. The only flew for this trip is, when we arrived the hotel and the front desk staff told me only one room booking can be found. My booking is not located in her computer. In fight back and fro for about 10-20 minutes, she suggest to open up a new reservation for me to solve the problem. Anyway, for me as a quick traveller, it is the only solution at that point. After a while, at about mid-night, there is a chance for us to go outside and passing through the front desk again, another staff ask us if we still have another person to come in late. It is strange, we just have booked 2 rooms and so we try to understand what happen, finally, we found the said person is me! That's means the record is actually in the computer but don't know why the first staff cannot find it out.

Breakfast was extremely limited, almost non-existent. There are warming trays for eggs, bacon, etc but they were empty. And it is not like we came to breakfast at closing time. Water pressure in the shower was low, so I had to spend extra time to ensure I was rinsed off. The shower door has a stop that limits it opening movement. Unfortunately, that stop moved back when you closed the door, keeping the door from opening. The quality of the towels are poor.

Stayed here with a party of 5 during a trip to Elkhart. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with kitchenette, that was more than enough room for 5 people to be comfortable. But it appears that the maintenance is going downhill. Outside our door was a hole in the wall with exposed wiring. Fire hazard. One of the lamps in the room was sticking half out of the outlet. When we tried to plug it into the other outlet, it was dead. The kitchenette had glassware and plates, but no silverware. Breakfast room was too small and someone had the dumb idea to put a high table and chairs right next to the food counters so it was impossible to move easily around the food. The buffet had biscuits and gravy, which was not hot enough. No danish, only little muffins. There were bread and bagels, a waffle iron, pre made omelets, yogurt, fruit (except the fruit was on the high top table, where diners could breathe on it as they sat on high chairs), juice, coffee, oatmeal. More like a cafeteria meal than a nice hotel. Rooms are not soundproof. Sounded like a herd of elephants were above us. Believe hotel has new owner who doesn’t have a liquor license, so no cocktails. Embassy Suites in South Bend is much nicer and has a better hot cooked breakfast. Unless you need a giant room, suggest you stay at Embassy Suites in South Bend.

We chose this place because it was pet-friendly, drive-up, and convenient, although at first glance, we weren't sure because of all the trucks lined down the street. It turns out it's popular with transporters who are moving RVs from Elkhart to other destinations. The motel was one of the best of the 20 motels we stayed at during our cross-country trip. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, and safe -- and had great grass for our dogs (a rarity). We'd definitely stay there again.

We stayed one night on our vacation at this hotel. It's by far the worst hotel we had in 12 nights! Our room looked like the sprinkler system had gone off or something. The wallpaper was all peeling badly at the seams and the wallpaper paste had run down the walls.. their attempt at repair was staples in several places. The ceiling light fixture had brown dried liquid in the globe. Both the sink and shower faucets leaked, the grout in the shower was moldy all around the parameter and there was hair in the tub. The sheets were very worn, rough and pilling. The bed was very hard. The other two Fairfields, the Courtyard Marriott, and the Holiday Inn Express on this trip were very nice.

Stayed here with a party of 5 during a trip to Elkhart. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with kitchenette, that was more than enough room for 5 people to be comfortable. But it appears that the maintenance is going downhill. Outside our door was a hole in the wall with exposed wiring. Fire hazard. One of the lamps in the room was sticking half out of the outlet. When we tried to plug it into the other outlet, it was dead. The kitchenette had glassware and plates, but no silverware. Breakfast room was too small and someone had the dumb idea to put a high table and chairs right next to the food counters so it was impossible to move easily around the food. The buffet had biscuits and gravy, which was not hot enough. No danish, only little muffins. There were bread and bagels, a waffle iron, pre made omelets, yogurt, fruit (except the fruit was on the high top table, where diners could breathe on it as they sat on high chairs), juice, coffee, oatmeal. More like a cafeteria meal than a nice hotel. Rooms are not soundproof. Sounded like a herd of elephants were above us. Believe hotel has new owner who doesn’t have a liquor license, so no cocktails. Embassy Suites in South Bend is much nicer and has a better hot cooked breakfast. Unless you need a giant room, suggest you stay at Embassy Suites in South Bend.
