Tunnel Top Inn Ella

Helpful service from Upul and Sithija especially Sithija. He did multiple tasks from rushing over a kilometre stretch and cheerfully took my weighty little suitcase while panting to getting me up the steep slope to the hotel on his motorbike. To driving me in the hotel's tuk tuk to Ella Town and finding a place for my laundry. He even plated the fried rice that I'd ordered from the nearby eat house and carried it up to my room. And while he was trying to send me to my next hotel, his tuk Tuk had a tyre burst. After fixing it, he gave a reassuring shake of his head and smiled Upul cooked a good breakfast and was a man of ideas. He helped me with travel information and when I decided to cancel my next hotel (wasn't easy to locate), he helped me with alternative accommodation (in Ella Town) Location : it's not near Ella Town (which is forgettable) but really within walking distance of 9 Arches Bridge. U wake up to a wonderful sensory experience of the lovely landscape from your balcony Rooms : Spacious and clean with big balcony. Go stay there. The path to the hotel might be narrow and uneven with pot holes but I didn't know how good it was till I left it!

Fantastic hotel and fantastic host. An incredible view, absolutely marvellous especially in the morning. Everything was perfect. The place to be in Ella !

This place is beautiful. Right in the Ella jungle, with an incredible view. The room was beautiful - new, spacious and well equipped with everythng you'd need. It is literally a four minute walk from the Nine Arches Bridge. Getting into and out of town was easy - they offer a free tuk tuk service. The breakfast was very generous indeed and you will not go shy of fresh fruit! The two guys looking after the place were amazing - so kind and attentive; they will look after you. Solid recommend.

Although the location is a little inaccessible, that’s how the beautiful view of train coming out from tunnel can be seen. And the inaccessible location is overly compensated by the service, there is TukTuk to fetch you from Ella Town or Ella station when you arrive. During your stay, they fetched us back from Ella town after dinner around 9pm to the accommodation for the convenience. Also upon check out, they sent us back to Ella station. So, you can to enjoy the view in absolute nature without compromising the convenience. Absolutely love the place. Just walking distance to 9 Arch.

When we originally booked there was only 1 review so we were hesitant to book but decided to anyway. It turned out to be the best decision and we couldn’t be happier. The room and view is absolutely beautiful. Watching the sunrise and hearing the birds from the big and comfortable balcony was a highlight of our trip. The hosts really thought of everything. They have a tuktuk service to take you into the city, the hotel is a few minutes walk from the nine arches, lots of amenities you might need, and delicious breakfast. We hope to stay again!
