SuyderSee Hotel

I stayed at the hotel by myself for a business trip. In the evening while using the shower, I closed the bathroom door and the door lock fell in. The door did not open again from the inside. After 20 minutes of slamming on the walls and crying out for help, the receptionist finally came in and managed to easily open the bathroom door from the outside. The receptionist responded very sarcastically and unimpressed, simply stating that 'next time don't close your bathroom door' as if it were my own fault. No empathy or hospitality at all. Would not recommend. Before this occurred I'd asked the hotel (1 week in advance) to help arrange a taxi or transport to another location, the lady answering was very unhelpful said it was not possible and gave no alternative solutions. Overal, outdated hotel with tactless staff...

Good location very close to old town. Check in relatively easy. Room is very spacious. Breakfast also provided. However, I believe hotel used to be great looking (with its 4 stars rating) but seems already past its glory days. Oldish and tired looking. Amenities in room so so and room temperature hard to adjust even with its thermostat and air-con. Iron and ironing board only available outside the room with one set at each floor. Service at the desk can be improved to make people feel more welcomed and provide help when necessary. Breakfast spread stayed exactly the same every single day. Unfortunately no warm food. A decent one to stay but the place could do a round of upgrading.
