I ended up staying 8 days, unable to leave this oasis of comfort and peace. In fact, I made a major decision during my stay — I’m moving to Erfurt — and a big part of that decision is thanks to the warmth and magic that OPERA radiates like the very heart of the city. And yet — the true treasure of OPERA Hostel is its people. Florian, Nathalie, Yvonne, Eric, and Cosima — they are not just staff. They are the best reception team in the world, true artists of hospitality. They don’t just check you in — they lift you up, make you feel seen, safe, and effortlessly comfortable, not only in the hostel but in Erfurt itself. Their kindness, authenticity, and sense of humor transform an already beautiful place into something truly sacred.
