Extended Stay America Suites - Pensacola - University Mall

The check in staff were very friendly. The property looked well kept. The lobby and hallways were clean and smelled fresh. Our room was clean and appeared to be recently updated. Our bed was super comfortable and the room was quiet. They do set up a grab and go mini-breakfast bar in the morning that has coffee, tea and granola type bars. The only problem we had was the room had no hair dryer and the front desk had none to loan out. We would stay here again.
Holiday Inn Express Pensacola Beach

We stayed in this hotel once before Covid and loved it. Now it's even better. There were many great touches, like the lace curtains leading to the balcony with patio furniture overlooking the beach. There was a nice long desk and a long bathroom counter for toiletries. The thermostat-controlled heat worked well. The towels were large and fluffy. The breakfast was beautifully laid out and the hot oatmeal had ample condiments for it. I have only two suggestions. The bathroom fan turns on when the light switch is turned on. This makes it drafty when showering. It would also be nice to be able to leave the fan running without the light. Also, the shower stall could use another grab-bar. It's necessary to release the grab-bar when adjusting the water temperature, and the tub could be slippery. Overall, this was the nicest, cleanest hotel we stayed in during our 16-day road trip.
Days Inn by Wyndham Pensacola - Historic Downtown

The stay was good. Older hotel but clean and it right next to downtown which was cool. Able to check out The Vynal that was recommended and had a blast. The lady that was cleaning our rooms was really kind. The folks in the office could have acted nicer
SpringHill Suites Pensacola

The hotel staff is absolutely amazing! First when we arrived we had problems with our fridge and since my husband needed his insulin refrigerated we got moved to a different room. The morning of checking out we were leaving before breakfast and the very nice hotel receptionist and a sweet kitchen chef Marie made sure we got hot delicious breakfast sandwiches. Will stay there again!
SpringHill Suites Navarre Beach

The room we chose to celebrate our anniversary week was a gulf-front king suite, and it looked exactly like the pictures. The shower was the largest we've ever had in a Springhill Suites hotel. The oceanfront view was stunning. However, when we walked into our room, there was a very musty smell and I saw water all over the floor around the bed. The culprit was a refrigerator that had iced up and was now defrosting all over our room. As the phone to the front desk didn't work, we went downstairs and reported it and maintenance brought up a different refrigerator, that unfortunately had not been cleaned, but was an improvement over the leaking one it was replacing. Although they offered to give us a different room, we had already unpacked some and decided to wait for the new refrigerator. Maintenance was friendly and cleaned up the water all over the floor. The staff at the morning breakfast buffet was first class, friendly and attentive. Although everything was fresh and plentiful, the selection varies little during our 8 day stay. However, there was something for everyone. There could have been more seating for the number of people who come down for breakfast. We had to wait for seating more than once. The wonderful staff kept us in towels and fresh sheets all week. They were very friendly and efficient and available for everything we needed. After having stayed at several oceanfront resorts over the years, I was shocked and disappointed that Springhill Suites in Navarre has such a poor HVAC system or whatever should control air quality and humidity. There was a noticeable musty smell all week, probably from the water issue mentioned earlier. I reported this to the front desk too. The room was so damp all week that towels never dried. Bathing suits that were dried on the balcony during the day got damp once they were brought inside for the night. In fact, even though I did laundry one day and was bringing home half clean and half soiled laundry, everything was so damp when I packed it that all our clothing, clean and dirty, had to be washed to remove the musty smell once we arrived home. Huge disappointment. I mentioned it to the front desk staff on the first morning there, and again at checkout when I was asked about my stay.

We checked in on Saturday evening, we were told housekeeping would be provided every other day. We did not receive housekeeping Monday so when we returned in the evening, my husband went down to the desk and was given some towels. That's not housekeeping. When we returned Tuesday afternoon, same thing. No housekeeping; room hadn't been vacuumed, trash hadn't been emptied, no replacement bath tissue, no clean towels. No housekeeping. This time I went down to the desk and was offered towels. I asked if housekeeping was still in the building and was told yes so I asked that housekeeping bring towels and bath tissue to our room. Instead, a desk clerk brought some towels to the room. I had to ask again for toilet tissue and was assured the room would be taken care of. We spent the day out Wednesday and when we returned, the bed had been made without the sheets being changed and the trash had been emptied, two clean towels and no clean glasses. We aren't Marriott employees and we, as paying guests, should never be expected to shlep towels and bath tissue to our room. We stayed five days at a cost of close to $1,100 including taxes and this hotel thinks WE should service our room? I'm sure they're experiencing staff shortages, virtually all businesses are but as someone who has spent a lifetime dealing with the public, the cardinal rule of customer service is to first own the problem, apologize, and then correct it. None of that happened. We went down to breakfast Sunday morning. I asked the breakfast attendant if she needed our room number as we had booked the ”Stay for breakfast” rate. She sid it would be okay for that morning but I should stop at the desk the next morning and get a ”card”. I said thanks, I'll do that. When I did stop at the desk on Monday morning to get the ”card”, she had no idea what I was talking about and told me to show my confirmation email to the breakfast attendant. The Monday attendant had no idea what card I was referring to and had no interest in our confirmation email. She said she'd just put us on the ”Breakfast Club” and it's all fine. The right hand has no clue what the left is doing in this hotel. Marriott didn't just drop the ball on this, they succeeded in convincing us that this chain is completely off the list of possible options.
