Estepona Hotel & Spa Resort

We stayed here for one week in sep.22. The hotel has a large parking garage, payed, where you you will be assigned a certain place for your time here. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom. But there is a shower in a bath, which has a very high entry, so eldery or people with mobiliy problems might have troubles getting in. Large balcony, but also in need of TLC. The railing is loose and there is very little privacy, because of the obique layout you can see everyone else. The swimming pool is large enough, at least in sept that was the case, because it was very quiet in the hotel. They would be closing down after a week and refurbishe, we were told. And that is very necessary! The outside looks worn-out at some places, could do with some paint. The hotel had build a new and large fitness area, but that was not accessible for guest. There were a few fitness equipment outside. Too bad we could not use the one inside. Pools were very cold and the first day we were here it smelled bad. But other days that was not the case. The beach was a bit let down for us. Not clean, not appealing, bad odour. Could really use an upgrade! The other disappointment was dinner. We booked the hotel assuming there was a buffet, at breakfast and dinner. That is what the hotel claimed to provide. Breakfast was indeed a buffet, but at dinner there was a menu to choose from, but choices were very limited. After a week we were fed up with it. For desserts there was very few options and really small. And you could only get 1, but when there should have been a buffet, we could have had as many as we had wanted. That is a bit odd. And not what we wanted or booked. For a 4* hotel, they could have done better. But it was also not bad. Hopefully the renovations they say they were going to do, will upgrade the hotel to the 4* level they claim -＞But in the meantime, we have read that's not really the case :(

First class service, huge room - duplex -with sunbeds on terrace overlooking the sea. The food and service in the restaurants were first class. The bed was luxurious and there was everything needed including minibar, shampoos etc. the whole hotel was spotless.

Whilst we had a very nice holiday here we were disappointed to find that there was no communal bar/lounge area nor a permanently established indoor restaurant (the indoor part was the breakfast room; the dining restaurant was entirely outdoor either in gardens or by the pool with no option to dine inside). On the one cool and cloudy day - too chilly to be outside - there was nowhere warm and communal to lounge around or get drinks. You had to be either outside by the pool or in your room. Although described as a "hotel" it doesn't seem to offer the full suite of services I would typically expect because it lacks that communal area. Secondly, we were visiting end of season about 3 weeks prior to seasonal close and they seemed to be getting low in stock of our chosen wines at dinner eg we were selecting the last bottle or the wine was no longer available. However, the staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The pool is lovely - as a keen swimmer I enjoyed doing daily laps because it offers a good length of at least c. 25m in the longest stretch. The gym has good cardio equipment although it was annoying to find there was no water available to gym users. Regarding location: it is a short 10 min taxi ride outside of Estepon. Taxis could be called very quickly. Nearest grocery store is almost literally across the road but on foot is via a circuitous walk in order to cross a very busy dual carriageway.

The shower is just lethal. No bath matt for the shower a very steep high shelf and now shower curtain. Resulting in a wet marble. The lack of decent towels is a bit of a liberty to be honest and then they would like to charge you four for each additional towel.. they also dont provide any shampoo a 4 star want to be 5 with no shampoo. Are you serious? I booked again for a second date and asked for the best price €170 per day. Its €112 on *********** and tripadvisor. I feel a bit cheated in all honesty. Will speak to the reception an the restaurant manager in the am. You also dont even get one bottle of water a day. Thats just disgusting. Eqch one is €4. You cant bring drink in from outside to the pool.not even a bottlr of water. Come on its.of us what if we were here with kids?

Mid September and the it felt like in a ghost hotel. Nobody used the pool, there was almost no one visible on the premises or in the hotel itself during normal day-time... On the other hand, that guaranteed a silent and relaxing time here. Everything is very clean (rooms, bathrooms, public areas). Nevertheless maintenance on the buildings becomes a topic... (especially in the area of the adult pool). The rooms are spacious and practically furnished (lots of space in the closets !!! :-)) ). The real downside of this hotel: no active environmental protection (towels are daily changed even when hanging on the towel rail, aircon was running full force when entering the room, no automatic aircon switch-off when windows were open). Last but not least the breakfast is not for me (too fat, too sweet, too many eggs ... - I know I could choose, but healthy breakfast is different).

Room was dull and dingy. Stuck in a corner on ground floor. No discretion curtain. Not cleaned properly, things not working. Staff were grumpy at best - apart from the amazing main chef.

Family of 4 stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment Positives - clean, spacious apartment and balcony, quiet at night, good air conditioning, loads of sunbeds, very good breakfast Negative - Not even a kettle in the room even though you have a six seater dining table and chairs in the sitting room A car is essential if you want to leave the resort which you have to really unless you want to buy everything in the hotel which has a fairly limited menu, you are kind of forced to do so the way things are set up. No entertainment during the evening, there was a very dull atmosphere Sheets only on beds with no extra blankets etc. available We would return if we are looking for one of those relaxing breaks where you don't want to leave the resort.

Lovely hotel stayed as a family with 2 boys 9 and 12. Staff very helpful and the rooms are really big all with balcony’s . I feel it used to be 5 star but is going to be undergoing some work as only half open and a little tired in places but definitely worth a stay if you’re looking for a nice relaxing holiday. You will need to get taxis ( between 7-10 euro each way) to the port and Estepona if you want more dining options. As nothing local . We did this most evenings. Breakfast amazing and pool service good for snacks

3 night short holidays with my Mom , half board and food was very very good . I would maybe say room cleaning was not amazing, but also not dirty, just about ... pool nice , on the beach itself, we enjoyed.
