If you prefer, make your dinner over an open fire beneath the trees, though of course, there's a well equipped kitchen to cook up the generous cooked breakfast provisions provided and a comfortable separate living room with Mintaro slate floors and reverse cycle air conditioning in addition to a pot belly stove. Well mannered dogs are welcome inside, however the courtyard is enclosed by a picket fence so guests can be sure their dogs are secure while they enjoy the local restaurants and wineries. Foxtel provides inside entertainment while outdoors guests can enjoy the plentiful birdlife, including a variety of parrots, and kangaroos. Restaurants, wineries and a first class golf course are easily accessible. Clare township offers good shopping facilities while the Clare Valley is noted for its fine wines, excellent wineries, scenic drives and the beauty of its trees and rolling hills. The area has an unspoilt rural charm about it. For the cyclist or walking trail enthusiast, the popular Riesling Trail follows the old train line between Clare and Auburn (22km). The trail passes close to wineries, restaurants and scenic spots. It is sign posted and the full trail does not have to be negotiated.
