Holiday Inn Express - Akron NW - Fairlawn, an IHG Hotel

I did not fulfill my reservation because of an emergency on my party's end. I attempted a request of credit or cancelation charge as a courtesy being mindful of customer loyalty. To no avail. I attempted to work with Trip and the hotel and neither would consider any type of adjustment. Because of the lack of customer service in consideration, I submitted this review. I have spent an enormous amount of revenue with you both, as well as, loyalty. Thank you for reminding me in this day and age, customer service/courtesy no longer exists.

The room was not as clean as in the past stays. No vacuuming around furniture, fitted sheet won't stay on mattress. Water pressure not very strong and tub did not look very clean. No microwave to heat up leftovers. The receptionist st the desk are always very courteous and professional. The breakfast menu needs a little revamping. The hotel is my choice because of location and service, but the floor needs vacuumed completely not just the common areas.

Great property! Great location with plenty of dining and shopping within walking distance. Large room, comfy bed, helpful staff.

Parking was good, breakfast was good, rooms could have been a little cleaner-corners, headboards, etc. But overall good stay.

We were given a room on the second floor. Upon entering the room, the door would not close. the upper part of the door over hung the side of the frame at least a quarter of an inch due to the upper hinges being sprung. I called the desk and the young lady brought us up a key to another room. upon her arrival, I showed her the door, whereupon she grabbed the handle and lifted the door to get it to close. She said you have to lift the door. No. You should not have to lift a door to close it. The next room, had the same problem plus the heating and air unit fan was making a rattling racket. We lifted the door closed upon exiting and proceeded down stairs to tell her that room was no good. The third room had a slightly sprung upper hinge but the door would close on it's own and the fan was quiet. The main complaint with the room was when going to bed, the fitted king size sheet did not fit the king size mattress and when you laid upon it, it would pull up around you and after reading other reviews about the same problem, we figured it would be a waste of time to request new sheets so we used safety pins to hold the sheet down. Upon arriving at the breakfast, most of the warming dishes were empty and we had to wait for replenishment, which took a while. The juice dispenser had a note taped to the front that said "OUT", so no juice. Needless to say, this will definitely be our last stay at this location and more than likely our last stay at any Holiday Inn Express.

The staff went above and beyond to help me plan a special birthday stay for my wife. Even with me living out of town, they assisted with coordinating every detail, including allowing me in early to decorate the room in advance of her getting there, which made the experience truly memorable for her. This is where we are booking anytime we're in the Akron area.

This property is not clean or well maintained however the front desk staff is excellent in accommodating

staff were good, but cleanliness of the room was terrible one of my guest is covered in bed bug bites and now having to clean entire house, let alone what she is feeling

The sheets and pillow cases didn't seem to have been washed, there were black mascara marks on them. There was hair on bathroom floor. The lotion, shampoo and conditioner bottles were empty on our 2nd morning.
