Macdonald Inchyra Hotel and Spa

We were there for a wedding but the venture and room was lovely!

The staff are excellent, very friendly and ensure your stay is enjoyable. The rooms in the hotel need updating; I would not choose to stay at the hotel again due to the rooms being quite basic for a 4*, and no safe in the room either. The restaurant area is nice. The bar area could do with an open fire, which would be in keeping with the property and, due to the bar's location can be quite cool. I found the lockers difficult to use; there are no instructions when trying to use them, only in the reception area. I did ask someone to show me, but they were too busy apparently, so I asked another customer to help me. There was no concession for late checkout on New Year's Day; however, upon request, this was granted. You also have to book for breakfast; therefore, on New Year's Day, I had to get up for 9 am to go down to breakfast, which was not ideal. I had paid for the trip online when I booked; however, when I came to checkout, I was charged the full amount again and was informed that there was no log that I had already paid, but when we arrived and checked in, it was acknowledged that I had paid, it was a good job that I had the email displaying that I had paid. Upon further investigation by the hotel, it was noted that I had paid. I thought that I had read somewhere that there was an option for a set menu for NYE, but al a carte was still an option however this was not the case. The food was ok. The stay was made better due to the friendliness of the bar and restaurant staff, all credit to them.

Just Underwhelming.... Just underwhelming. Breakfast was horrible, food overpriced. Sausages dried up, eggs precooked...just horrible. No phones in rooms, Qr codes used. Asked for warm/ hot milk for kid... was brought but freezing. Tried to call reception again 4 times no answer. Just not a 4 star hotel as advertised. Pool was also cold and room was over heated... just dont rush to hotel. Staff were pleasent. About only thing up to date at hotel.

Overpriced and underwhelming As seems to be a theme with MacDonald hotels, the experience doesn't match the price point. The staff couldn't be faulted. Polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean enough but everything looks tired and shabby. Room was a great size but bed hard and uncomfortable. No fridge in room and if you want functioning WiFi you have to pay extra which seems an absolute joke for over £120 a night. Didn't eat at the restaurant as the reviews weren't good. A cup of coffee is over £5. Impossible to contact reception from the room. Would not recommend.

Overnight stay We stayed for one night whilst attending an awards ceremony at the venue. The staff were very pleasant particularly reception during check in (Megan I think?). Very welcoming and helpful.

Great place to stay Love this hotel. Staff are awesome, and the facilities are great Inc pool and gym.
