Family hotels in Yufu

"The ryokan's location is excellent, just a two to three-minute walk to Lake Kinrin and a one-minute walk to the shopping street. However, the rooms don't have private bathrooms; you need to use the public or family baths for showering. The hot water in the baths was also inconsistent; during colder weather, you might have to wait a while for hot water. The dinner was, without a doubt, the worst I've ever had at an onsen ryokan. Aside from the taste, the temperature was simply unacceptable – the food was already cold when served, worse than airplane food. We even had to carry the dishes from the tray to the dining table ourselves. On the other hand, breakfast was quite good and tasty. After meals in the room, staff didn't come in to clear up or prepare our futons for the night; we had to do everything ourselves. I believe there's significant room for improvement in their service. If you're considering staying here purely for the location, I'd recommend against having dinner at the ryokan."

"A stunning villa with excellent staff. The villas are new, beautifully renovated. All the furniture is expensive and high-quality, made exclusively from natural wood. All necessary amenities are provided. The hotel staff will help with any questions (calling a taxi to the hotel, finding an adapter for a Japanese outlet). The private onsen deserves special mention; it's magnificent. The views from the villa are incredible."
