The hotel is beautiful and set in lovely grounds with an amazing Cedar tree to view from the dining room. We were greeted by Kirsty who gave us a brief tour and showed us to our Junior suite which was delightful - beautifully furnished with comfortable beds. Our evening meal was in the Bistro Enkel and the food was divine and the serving staff friendly and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. The next day breakfast was just as good , all freshly cooked so therefore it was served nice and hot .. We had a fabulous time and can highly recommend this lovely hotel.

This was our second stay at this wonderful hotel and we can’t wait to return for a third visit soon. We arrived on Valentines evening, unpacked then headed into the beautiful restaurant to start our 3 hour, 12 course tasting experience and it was just fantastic. The staff were amazing and a special shout out needs to go to the lovely lady who ensured our wine glasses were topped up regularly and the lovely young waiter who served our food and explained everything so well to us, he was just great! We then retired for the night in our extremely comfy bed. Before setting off home we went for breakfast and for us this was the only little complaint we had. Both of our cooked breakfasts were cold and unfortunately as I had Eggs Royale I genuinely couldn’t even attempt to eat more than a couple of mouth fulls, my partner did manage to eat some of his English breakfast though. The lovely waitress came and cleared our plates but didn’t comment on the food left and we didn’t want to cause any fuss so just said nothing - perhaps we should have! Would this stop us returning, absolutely not but next time we’ll ask for our food to be extra hot at breakfast time .

We booked the Celebration Package for my wife's 60th Birthday, and found the whole experience wonderful. We were made to feel very welcome and special. The suite was luxurious, with lots of extra touches, and the 12 course tasting menu was superb

We chose this hotel due to a recommendation from someone who had stayed before. It was a celebration of our friend retiring and we could not have chosen better. The location is stunning, and on arrival, we were made welcome by Kirsty, who was very friendly and attentive. Once settled in our rooms, we took the opportunity of walking around the gardens and enjoyed a drink in the bar, which had a lovely, calm atmosphere. After freshening up, we then had pre dinner drinks in the lounge, and Simon presented us with the dinner menu. He gave a brief explanation of each dish and allowed us some time to choose. Simon took us to our table, after which the starters were served. I had a salmon dish, which was amazing. We had all chosen the beef for the main course and the meat was perfectly cooked. It came with generous amounts of vegetables and a cauliflower cheese. It was really tasty (and filling). After a break myself and my friend and I had a creme brulee, which was also amazing. Our wives were too full for desserts and simply had a coffee, which they both enjoyed. We had a fantastic night's sleep on the very comfortable beds. The bedroom and bathroom were very well appointed and due to the location it was very quiet. Simon had already told us that there was plenty of choice for breakfast and he was not wrong. I enjoyed a full English, and everything on the plate tasted so fresh. We all had a wonderful stay and will certainly be recommending the hotel to our friends and family.

Absolutely amazing ! The experience was my husband surprise birthday get away. The hotel was warm and cosy, staff went above and beyond to look after us and make our stay so welcoming. The food was exceptional both evenings, breakfasts were impeccable. Thank you all .

Memorable New Year break Full marks and more for Farlam Hall from start to finish Beautiful stable suite (Tack house) Great service where every detail is thought of Superb hosting by Rishie , Karen and the team Amazing food , everyday each culinary experience was a symphony of delights. Creative dishes with a twist Each morsel getting one’s tastebuds dancing My husband and I have travelled far and wide over time. Had a fantastic 2 night gourmet stay and it was absolutely fantastic, hotel is set in wonderful grounds and location, service was exceptional from check in right through to check out. Food was amazing! The little hints of spices brought something different to the norm! Wine pairings went great and service was top notch with great attention to detail. Rooms were also great, high spec, clean and spacious(junior suite) Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay. We booked a junior suite in the main house, which was lovely. The amenities were top notch. The bed was comfortable. The service was wonderful. The breakfast was spectacular. We tried most of the items on the menu during our stay, and they were all great. We went to visit Hadrian’s Wall. It is a great location to visit the museums and the most intact part of the wall. We had dinner at the hotel's Bistro and their Michelin Star restaurant. Both were very good, with the Michelin Star restaurant being totally amazing.

Spent a fantastic two night break at Farlam Hall last weekend and found the whole experience superb. From the moment we arrived it was clear that everyone’s primary concern was that we should enjoy our visit as much as possible. In this they succeeded spectacularly. The building and its grounds are beautiful. It is both immaculately clean and very well appointed. The junior suite we called home over the weekend was lovely. The standard of food served throughout was both consistent and amazingly good. A separate review of Cedar Tree and Enkel to follow. It was great to be greeted on arrival by Hrishi Desai, someone we never got to opportunity to meet at Gilpin. I can honestly say the man is as modest as he is talented. Suffice to say, Farlam Hall is a fabulous place to spend time relaxing and indulging in both fabulous food and seamless, friendly service.
