Property Description
Endearing log cabin, perfect for anyone looking to getaway. Nestled on five, beautiful acres of land at an altitude of 1800 feet just minutes walk from the Appalachian Trail and creek; and just minutes drive from nearest winery. Rustic, authentic, Appalachian style log cabin with vaulted ceilings, loft, pot belly wood stove, and three quaint bedrooms: Master (queen) bedroom has own bathroom with large claw foot tub and separate shower. Second bedroom (king) is a huge inviting loft with bright skylights and sliding barn door for privacy. Third bedroom (full) is simple, but cozy. Kitchen has everything you need for your stay including pots, pans, utensils, blender, toaster, coffee pot and more. Back deck overlooks open acre of gently sloping land. You will want to see this place in every season: Spring brings stunning colors from Forsythia, Red Buds, wild Lillies, and the native mountain flower, Trillium. Experience the dense mountain fog and the nearby peaceful streams and creeks! Our cabin is surrounded by beautiful, enormous poplar trees full of character and shade to complement the cool mountain breeze. Summers on the mountain are an escape from the hot city and are noticeably cooler as you drive up the mountain. Find a hammock and let yourself relax. Winters offer unusual snowfall compared to the bottom of the mountain. In the winter you can watch the sunrise through the trees from the deck or just let the amber light shine through the cabin windows and make a warm cup of coffee, tea, or hot cocoa, bring your favorite book and get cozy next to the pot belly wood stove! Fox Meadow is conveniently only a few miles away and offers a stunning view from their open deck or tasting room. Chester Gap will exceed your expectations with a great selection of wine, cozy tasting room, friendly atmosphere, and unparalleled view of the gap in Front Royal. Front Royal Brewery offers great food, live music, and of course, great beer inspired by the local community flavor. Stop on your way up the mountain at The Giving Tree and pick up some last minute items; fresh bread, wine, local produce, milk and eggs. Locals rave about The Apple House. Visit Shenandoah National Park, less than a half hour away. Explore the nearby caverns or Shenandoah River by kayak, just 20 minutes away.
