FengHuang Mengqi stilted building river view homestay

I was lucky enough to book a riverside balcony room at the Fenghuang Mengqi Diaojiaolou Riverside Inn. This accommodation is an authentic stilt house built right on the Tuojiang River, with wooden structures nestled against the mountains and waters, and flying eaves and upturned corners exuding the charm of Western Hunan. The private viewing balcony in the room is elegant and secluded. Even more unique is a delicate small door that opens directly to the Tuojiang riverside, allowing immediate access to the emerald waters without having to walk around. During the day, you can lean on the railing and listen to the gurgling river, watching traditional black-awning boats gracefully glide across the water. As dusk settles, lights gradually illuminate both banks of the Tuojiang River, lanterns shimmer on the water, and the silhouettes of the stilt houses are painted in light and shadow. The river shimmers with ripples, stars and moon blend with the lamplight, and the evening breeze carries a hint of moisture. Everything you see is a picturesque scene, both tranquil and dazzling, a feast for the eyes filled with gentleness and wonder.
