Malacuna Peniche ★★★
"We spent one night here, very cool surf house with amazing breakfast. Walking distante to both baleal beaches. Plenty of walks around and ideal place for surfing. Supertubos about 10 minutes by car. Value for price very expensive. A bit noisy during the night, if you come with your couple probably would not be your place."
Urban Art by Campigir ★★★
"Stayed in a cabin for four in August. Very tired decor inside (and around campsite). Air conditioning not working properly, only three plates for a 4 bed cabin and bulb not working in bedroom. Raised with reception but nothing happened despite 2/3 could have been fixed in 5 mins. Lots of better options in the area so recommend to avoid and book elsewhere."
Tribo da Praia - Eco Hostel

Ride Surf Resort & Spa Peniche ★★★★
"There is a massive discrepancy between the "boutique hotel" this place describes itself as and the hostel we experienced. Check-in set the tone. Their card machine could not process my credit card, and after multiple failed attempts a staff member actually challenged me "what is your credit limit?". A hugely inappropriate question, especially as the real issue was their machine not being set up for my credit card, despite advertising they take them. My card company confirmed no payments had even been attempted. The payment finally went through on day two. The room is very basic. No tea or coffee, combined body wash and shampoo in the shower, cheap uncomfortable pillows, and the "complimentary water" is bottled tap water, only provided on the first night, there is a water cooler in the corridor so you can fill the bottles yourself. Our room sleeps 4 and we were 4 people, yet the patio only had 3 chairs. The extra chair they brought when we asked was broken. I told the hotel in advance that I have coeliac disease and they confirmed they could provide gluten free food, yet they had nothing on the bar menu at all. They assured me they would "go to the shop" and buy something gluten free. We ended up buying our own food as there was nothing available and on putting it in the fridge in the morning, by the afternoon it was crawling with ants. They replaced the fridge quickly, but it sits inside the wardrobe with our clothes, which felt rather grim. The biggest issue is noise, and it is relentless. During the day the hotel hosts large external groups of kids, 10 to 20 at a time, although supervised they are largely left to their own devices. The constant screeching is exactly like sitting in a school playground and makes relaxing in the outdoor space or by the pool impossible. They leave at 3.30pm and the difference is astonishing, it becomes lovely. Nothing on the website warns you the outdoor space is given over to external groups. We would never have booked had we known. At night the excessive noise levels continues: the lounge TV was so loud on our second night we could hear every word, this was well after midnight. Another night there was shouting and jeering at table tennis at 11.35pm. You can hear the early risers from 7am.. the rooms are so poorly sound insulated we heard everything. Not one night did we have a full nights sleep without being woken up at some point. When we raised the noise, the responses were dismissive. I was told the kids "go soon anyway" this was at 2pm (they left at 3.30pm), told I was wrong about the TV because "it was the World Cup" (we complained after midnight, well after the football ended), and told the games room closed at 10pm when my husband asked them to quieten down at 11.35pm precisely. We asked on Tuesday to check out a day early (Saturday checkout), we did not think this would be an issue given the issues we raised with the hotel. We were told the manager said no refund, credit only. I asked to speak to t"

"Great location, easy parking, and very friendly staff. Very nice room with a balcony, a good bed, and a bathroom with a shower. To top it off, an excellent breakfast that we didn't expect, a beautiful dessert that would make many 4-star hotels envious. VERY GOOD"
