The Bar was quirky..... that is the most positive thing i can say. Under refurbishment but the main starcase in the hotel with its broken floor tiles, Fire address panel that is faulty and missing smoke alarms make this place an accident waiting to happen. Fire doors wedged open and that was before i even made it to the bedroom. The bathroom was tiny dated and quite frankly filthy. The bedroom appeared clean however the bedding if cleaned had certainly not been ironed. An expensive mistake that will never be repeated this place was abysmal. I did email my concerns to the hotel with no response, this indicates the level of customer care to expect

Terrible place. Smells of fried food and strong mildew. We saw dirty cups, a disgusting shower, tired furniture. “Breakfast” was delivered in a plastic grocery bag. We spent 5 minutes and left. I would choose to sleep in a tent over this place 100% of the time.

Inn is experiencing renovation. They’re adding a kitchen. Some of the rooms still need to be refurbished. Otherwise it was a very comfortable stay

AVOID AVOID AVOID We arrived at 5.30pm on NYE to find our room dirty, slept in by staff, rubbish bins everywhere and mouldy, damp and cold. This was a special night away for my partner’s Christmas present and to bring in the bells in what we thought would be style considering the £121 price tag for room only. As it’s rural we had no choice but to just drive home. I booked this on December 4th and obviously with it being so late on NYE we couldn’t find alternative accommodation or celebrations. No compensation or help was offered. Just refunded promptly and ushered out! The staff seemed to be having in-house arguments about other staff with the manager sitting outside in her car avoiding us at all costs and leaving it to the bar staff to sort. One particular member of staff was very shocked and couldn’t apologise more but it wasn’t her sole responsibility. Avoid at all costs. This hotel should not be on this site as it is portrayed suitable and definitely was not- I’m being kind when I write that. The management should hang their heads in shame. I will be emailing head office.

We booked this hotel as we were attending a wedding near by. I explained that my husband has a bad back and we were offered a room in the cottage at the rear of the building. They did say there were stairs but not as many as in the main hotel. We checked in and were shown to the room which was out a fire exit, across an uneven courtyard and up a very steep flight of stairs. The room was dreadful. An old couch with one foot, 2 windows had blinds, one of which was broken, and one did not, the hanging rail was in the eves and the rail was so low you could not hang anything. Didn’t matter as there were no hangers and an old chair took up about 80% of the space. Bare plaster patch on the walls and the odd cobweb or two. We went down to the bar and the lady was very helpful and showed us 2 alternative rooms. We took one at the rear of the hotel and it was slightly better. Old furniture which had seen better days and the bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress was so soft and had a board underneath. The shower had a rusty soap stand and the water trickled out. We were told breakfast would be delivered and we are still waiting! Turns out a continental breakfast is served in the bar. We did not eat so cannot comment on the food but given that the fish and chip shop is part of the premises, you certainly got that aroma throughout the building. It such a shame that no investment is being made to this hotel as it’s in a great location and the bar has the promise to be something interesting. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful but I feel for them as they are trying their best in a very challenging building.
