This penthouse is fabulous, we never got tired of the views. The kitchen is well equipped although there is no toaster (although there is a sandwich toaster!) and I couldn't find the handle for the grill pan, but these are minor *******. The Wolmar supermarket is only a few minutes walk for any essential supplies, the supermarket at Cascavelle is a 10 mins drive and has everything you need. The kids loved having their own rooms and plunge pool. The main pool and sunloungers were never busy but the pool is only 1.3m deep so fine for small kids but not really deep enough for my teenagers (who are both hardcore swimmers). The beach is just a few steps away and the water is warm, shallow and there's zero waves (being protected by the reef further out). Mauritius in winter is warm but not sweltering, and we only had 1 rainy day in the 10 days we stayed, the weather was lovely with lots of sunny days, but watch out, the sun sets at 6pm and there's very little twilight, 30 minutes later and it's pitch black. The road outside is unlit so you'll need to use your phone's torch if walking out at night. There's a cluster of restaurants about a mile up the road, so it's walkable or there's parking opposite if you want to drive. Our favourites were Bourgainville, Chutneys and Tidez. Hugo from Horizon is very welcoming and provided a list of recommended activities, we did the catamaran cruise with JPH, Blue Safari submarine, 7 coloured earth, Black River national Park and Casala wildlife park. We had a fantastic time in Mauritius and the penthouse was just fabulous. My top tip... buy an Emtel tourist SIM for your phone so can use data without paying ruinous data roaming fees, I got mine from the Pingouin car rental desk in the airport, it was only 500Rs for 15 GB (less than £10 GBP) and lasted for the whole time we were in Mauritius.

We rented 2 apartments at Cap West for our visit to Mauritius for my daughter’s wedding. Both the penthouse and the apartment were clean and comfortable but what made our stay more enjoyable was the friendly and helpful attitude of all the staff. The wedding took place at a 5 star hotel but we all felt our stay at Cap West was more enjoyable as we all felt so relaxed and happy there.

Only 32 steps from apartment to the Indian Ocean. I have been in many places ,but this one is really amazing. Apartment on the ground floor is fantastic,inside you have all you need ,staring from wash machine and finish with barbecue and Harman blot pot for Music connection. Staff is really friendly and give you service whenever you need . The beach front is wow,if you don’t want then the alternative is swimming pool,very clean and is warm . We will come back again for sure !

Had the pleasure of staying here for just over 2 weeks. Was an incredible base for the holiday going and exploring the entire island. The apartment was clean and spacious with more then enough space for 6 people. Only slight negative was the lack of hot water in the morning but if you don’t mind that then you’ll have little complaints. The sea and pool was amazing being very close and convenient for early morning or late night swims, never busy and always clean. If you are looking for self catering accommodation which isn’t loud or overly busy with a beautiful view, don’t look anywhere else. We stayed in apartment A4 which had a view to die for. 5 star service

We were very disappointed with our stay to say the least. We booked our stay through Dream Escapes. Upon arrival, we were not impressed by all the mould in the shower cubicles and noticed the phone line was out of service, air conditioner in the lounge/diner was not working, dryer was not working and the bathroom doors were not closing. We were told by Alban that we cannot move apartment for they are fully booked-lie. We emailed the manager at the office expressing our concerns and miraculously another apartment became available immediately for us to move to- one where everything was supposedly in working order. Things got worse. This time, the washing machine did not work at all. So they reluctantly took our clothes to be washed in a different apartment and handed them back over to air dry- this was not possible due to the rainy weather. We also noticed that the towels being given to us still had black stains remaining on them.Whilst leaving, we gave our feedback to Alban who became nasty and defensive and literally said that mould in the shower is grout and as a 'woman, I would not know that supposedly 😳. Secondly he blamed us for the air con not working on our arrival because apparently we must have come before our actual arrival and left the door open... He also said that we purposely dirtied the fresh towels and tired his staff out for the washing had to carried to another apartment. Is it our fault you gave us a 2nd apartment with a washing machine/dryer that did not work on TWO occasions?Whenever we rang him, he would take ages to answer or even come to sort the issue out. What a joke! Cleaning staff are rude and security staff questionable. They fall asleep and take ages to open the gate for you at night. Then we realised that the reason why we were being treated as such is we are Mauritian. Never again! Advice to Non resident Mauritians booking via dream escapes- save yourself the stress and insult and please book elsewhere.

This property is just amazing. The location is just perfect . Not very crowded. The view from the apartment is spectacular. All the eminities are provided in the apartment. The cleanliness and hygiene is maintained properly. Everyday a lady comes to clean your apartment she is very polite and cleans the apartment up yo the mark The manager Hugo is very polite and friendly. He explained everything clearly during check in. The check out procedure was also very smooth. All in all its the perfect property to stay if you are in Mauritius.

Well maintained property with nice views.

We were agreeably surprised by both apartments. They were both clean, comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. The 2-bedroom apartment comfortably lodges 4 adults with a large living/dining area. The 3-bedroom apartment was very luxurious, with 2 living/sitting areas and balcony. All rooms have their own ensuite. The main asset is that the apartments are on the beach, not across the road but right on the beach. The beach and sea in front are both very clean; I am not sure if someone cleans it but there were no sea urchins at all, which is rare in Flic en Flac. Gardens well maintained and pool very clean. Security is excellent with guards patrolling the whole precinct. We felt very safe. The Hotel Manager Hugo is very welcoming and helpful. He is contactable nearly 24/7 and nothing is too much to ask. The maids, guards, gardeners are all very amiable, helpful and do an excellent job keeping the place clean. Our only regret is that we did not book for a longer stay. We will definitely be back.

Did not make it to the resort but had initially booked 4 villas via Dreamscapes Ltd in Tamarin. It got worse when I was told I was going to get my deposit back but I am still chasing Nicolas Oudin, the owner of the company who keeps giving me bs excuses. Be sure not to use this company for your bookings. Other than that, the complex is pretty good since I have been there a couple of times when booking via Horizon.
