Racv Cape Schanck Resort

Racv Cape Schanck Resort

📍 Trent Jones Dr, Cape Schanck
★★★★★ 8.6 (54 reviews)

"Great resort, family friendly with good restaurants and a gym, rooms were big and clean. Definitely a good pick if you are staying down here. I did find that the road down here from Melbourne is pretty dark at night in the last 15 min before you get there so you may want to try to avoid that"

Jackalope Hotel

Jackalope Hotel

📍 166 Balnarring Rd, Merricks North
★★★★★ 9.2 (47 reviews)

"We stayed at Jackalope for a return visit, having enjoyed it 5 years ago. While the property remains well presented and the bar service was very good, the overall experience has declined. Our room had ongoing crackling noises through the night, which affected sleep quality. Dinner at Doot Doot Doot, which we had looked forward to, was disappointing. Despite noting dietary requirements in our booking and at check-in, staff repeatedly asked about them, and there was confusion with the menu. The response from service staff felt inflexible and dismissive. The overall service lacked warmth and attentiveness. Jackalope presents well on the surface, but the experience feels mechanical and disingenuous, falling short of what it claims to offer."

The Balnarring Motel

The Balnarring Motel

📍 3055 Frankston - Flinders Rd, Balnarring
★★★★ 8.0 (25 reviews)

"Great place for an overnight stay while moving house. The Heritage next door is great for a meal and a drink and the shops (bakery, cafe etc) are across the road, as well as other restaurants. Bed was comfortable, shower was fantastic and the room was clean. Furniture a little outdated; however, everything worked. Set back from the road, so it was pretty quiet. We had a spa in the room; however, had to pay an extra $70 if we wanted to use it....so we didn't. Decor was a bit of a shrine to a local winery. With a slap of paint and some updated furniture and blinds (maybe get rid of the spa and pop another bed in) and this place would be better. Would probably stay again and recommend it to family and friends if they could not find anything else."

Jackalope Hotel ★★★★★
"The room views are nice but (red) wine was not great. DO be watchful of additional charges. We were abruptly sent with inflated charges after we left the room. Although the hotel showed us photos of the room with damages across the furniture, we were absolutely sure they were not there when we left the room. Unfortunately, we did not manage to take photos of the room when we left (I mean who does but lesson learnt) and could not fight back since they had our credit details on hold. We were also unsuccessful when we tried to negotiate with the staff. Overall, this left a very bitter experience so just a warning for future customers."

"From the moment we arrived, our experience at the hotel was smooth and welcoming. The check-in process was efficient, and the hotel itself was easy to locate, which made our arrival stress-free. A special mention goes to the front desk staff, who were not only accommodating but also genuinely lovely to engage with. His local knowledge and friendly recommendations, especially for our wine exploration, added a personal touch that made us feel right at home. Our room matched the expectations set by the photos in the advertisements. While the space was more compact than others we’ve seen at a similar price point, it was impeccably clean and well-maintained, which I particularly appreciated. Though my partner, who is quite particular about bedding, was initially dissatisfied with the bed quality, we were impressed by how promptly Adam and the team responded. Their thoughtful gesture of a handwritten card and a complimentary bottle of wine was sincerely appreciated and showed a true commitment to guest satisfaction. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. We would happily return and recommend the hotel to others looking for a friendly and tidy place to stay."

"On a recent road trip, I found myself on the Mornington Peninsula looking for a place to stay... Booking Dot Com has this listed. When I read the reviews they were a mixed bag - remaining open minded and I ONLY really needed somewhere to lay my hat after a long day, I booked. It's very easy to locate on the main street in town... and it's surprisingly quiet for it's location. The driveway is very generous and parking was super easy. It is walking distance to the supermarket and restaurants. The room was dated and I felt like it was in a bit of a time warp. There was a spa in the room which I was not aware of until I arrived... but the warning on the spa - "If the spa is used there will be an extra charge of $70 per night" was just odd and didn't sit well. If I had known about the spa at the time of booking I would have arranged one IF I had wanted to use it, rather than calling reception to arrange it before 7pm as per their odd note. The walls were adorned with items that made no sense... it was almost like a trophy wall of a nearby winery. It looked like advertising, but poor advertising. It's a bit hit and miss, but ... would I stay again... maybe. I got a good nights sleep here and there were some great features such as the ease of parking. To note, with a few upgrades, this place would most certainly be well sought after."
