Very disappointed with Hotel Machiavelli Palace, both with the conditions and the way my requests were handled.
I accidentally booked and paid for two nights instead of one and repeatedly asked to cancel the second night. I explained that I was pregnant, travelling on a limited budget, and that this was a significant amount of money for me. My requests were ignored. I understand that cancellation policies apply, but I expected at least a proper response and some consideration. In the end, I was left paying for a second night I did not need.
The hotel itself is old, unwelcoming, and very noisy. Breakfast was another disappointment: too many people, too little space, and very little food available. The dirty dishes were particularly unpleasant. Clean tableware is a basic expectation at any hotel.
We paid almost RUB 30,000 for the booking, and the experience did not justify the price at all. I left feeling that once the hotel had my money, my concerns no longer mattered. I would not stay here again or recommend
