Holiday Inn Express FOLKESTONE - CHANNEL TUNNEL by IHG
"Very clean, all staff friendly and accomodating."
The Grand Burstin Hotel
"All over good but, restaurant food is not very nice and have not get the room which i booked online . I have payed for balcony room which have a sea view as well but ended up staying in a normal delux room. Washroom doesn’t have good supply of water."
The Southcliff Hotel
"We actually liked the hotel, because reception lady was friendly and helpful, room was alright and clean, beds and linen were nice, we also had a big shower, wardrobe and huge mirror, there was a tiny lift available. Heating was helpful. Only one problem we had, was with the door, which was hard to open and close. Otherwise, It’s a good value for money and we would definitely return."
voco THE CLIFTON FOLKESTONE by IHG
"Fantastic location, amazing service, incredibly clean rooms, just very very comfortable stay. Didn't wanna leave the room because it was so good. Highly recommended! (Great restaurants and cafes in and near the hotel too!)"

Folkestone (Channel Tunnel)
"Having an early morning shuttle to france booked to go to disneyland we thought we would book a family room here so we were down here ready, rested and fresh instead of driving through the night from up north. We would have been better saving our money and driving through the night. The heat was UNBEARABLE. Yes, its not the hotels fault the weather was warm (warm not hot) but this hotel is not equipped for it. No air con, the room was 32 degrees the whole time. We just laid in a puddle of sweat each all night. When our alarms went off, even though tired, it was a god send. In the night I had contemplated going to sleep in the car to use the ac. There was a fan in the room but just blew hot air over you. We were up and out too early to book breakfast but nevermind, a strong cup of coffee would help with our on going journey. Only 2 sachets of coffee left in the tray...nevermind, will make do. Kettle didnt work. Brilliant. Had 'passed' stickers on it but i dont know whose passing a faulty appliance. Left a note so the following guests didnt suffer. The irony of not being able to sleep but then not being able to have a coffee is not wasted on me. Laugh or cry the choice is yours haha. On checking out the receptionist was deep in training with a manager, wasnt asked how our stay was but looking at the reviews they are probably fed up of complaints. The food in the pub is very average and when only one person is left on the bar (even though there seems to be alot of staff) there can be queues. All in all a terrible experience, left feeling tired and dissappointed"
Rocksalt
"This was genuinely a wonderful and most special place. The Rocksalt Rooms are in a separate building to the Restaurant - but you check in at the latter and walk you over. Note all the streets here are cobbled, which can be slippery when wet. They are a real BoltHole as they are described, and there are only four total. 2 on 1st floor, 2 on 2nd floor, with one per floor harbour facing. I'd definitely suggest that the upgrade is worth it. The rooms are compact but exceptionally well presented. I've odd little niggles, theres no bedside of any kind - floating shelf would work, where do you put your mobile? And the metal bed frame is ornate and was loose on the footboard. The biggest challenge is where to put things. There are a few hangers on the back of the door and a small set of hooks, but not a drawer or proper place at all. I get space is a real premium here - bedside with 2 drawers all you need! The wet room is compact as everyone says. You won't keep the floor area outside the shower dry, it's not possible. The sink is a corner one with no space to place things but there is shelf in the bathroom for all your luxuries. The body wash / conditioner / hand soap / hand moisturiser are great quality. Noise - it's by the Harbour so they start early, but for us it was part of the charm of the location, the fresh fish smell was totally incredible. Breakfast is not to be missed, across in the restaurant with the best view, it's harbour side. Loved the granola, yoghurt, compote starter. I had English Breakfast as I was hungry, it was great quality but disappoining - it was more style over substance. The bacon is cooked to crispy, not my style at all but great quality. He had the Salmon & Eggs and it won hands down. Local, fresh, decent portion, on wonderful Sourdough. Luckily I was saved a bite. A point or two more - the bedside light fused the circuit and the room was plunged into darkness. Looked for fuse box, could not find. Ended up in Restsurant. They had to get keys to a location they used to own but don't now (ground floor of the Rooms building). This took a while as the keys had to be obtained. I get how this used to work, but not now - the fuse box needs moving. The if we cant fix option was check out and refund - erm no!! There is the most incredible Team member behind the Bar/ Restaurant from Bulgaria whose name I have really tsckily forgotten. For which I apologise. She is truly wonderful and made the visit for me, id return solely to see her again!!! Overall we loved Rocksalt Rooms and would return, to have dinner in the restaurant too! Thumbs up from us, thang you so kindly 💕"

The Carlton Hotel
"The hotel bed not very comfortable and old. The breakfast was awful. The bathroom caddy poor."
Chandos Premier Folkestone (Channel Tunnel) Hotel
"Disgusting and scary, full of DSS, walking about in boxer shorts, arguing with each other. Stunk of tobacco, and generally unclean. Slept in my clothes with my coat over my head to escape the stink, to tolerate the 1 night we had to stay. It's a doss house. No breakfast ( wouldn't have eaten there anyway, it's dirty, it's got an unsafe vibe, and even states on another site that it has a pool, unfortunately that can only relate to the carpet stains and what those pools could be may be what causes the stink. Awful place, I'd pay not to go again ...which we actually did rather than return on the way back. The photos are obviously from many years ago, looks nothing like that. The guy says you get what you pay for people shouldn't grumble.....people need to avoid it in the first place and surely these places need to be outed for misrepresentation."
