"Apart from the location which was convenient and close to the beach, the rest of the experience was terrible, there was dirt literally every where in the room, radiators, television, curtains everything was dusty more over shower and lights in the bathroom was not working properly. House keeping services i don't know if they were there in the hotel, I had to request 4 times to empty my rubbish bin. The worst hotel I had ever stayed in!!! Period."

"It definitely looks like it’s being / has been renovated recently. The guy running the place was working hard the whole time! He was very attentive and was quick to get anything we needed (permit, iron etc) Good location, and would stay here again. I’d love to see it once the outside renovations are complete."

📍 30-32 Clifton Rd, Folkestone

"Booked to stay here over half term with my daughter for a couple of nights - had a cosy room which was just right for the two of us. Front reception staff were really kind and helpful. Breakfast was lovely - the lady there was so nice and although was busy as she was on her own, she was always smiling. We dined in the restaurant one of the evenings - food was delicious but the heating wasn’t working on that floor so the whole room was cold. Bar / restaurant staff were really nice. Overall, we had a lovely stay and we would recommend this hotel to friends and family."

The Grand Burstin Hotel ★★★
"Good stay at the hotel. Check in online was simple and the keycard was ready when we arrived. Parking was £5 which was fine for the area. The room was basic but had everything we needed for 1 night. View of the sea and beach. Bar was relaxed, plenty going on at the hotel."

Rocksalt ★★★★
"I was expecting something special being familiar with the Restaurant Rocksalt. The room was functional clean but very small with the very comfortable bead taking up most of the room. There was neither room to work or relax apart from on the bed itself Good coffee machine but no proper fridge / mini bar just what I can only describe as a vey small electric cool box But it was functional as a place to sleep and had a small wet room / toilet facility Disappointed by two things really Nobody on site Monday and Tuesdays and so key was in a key box air-b-n-b style. When I got into the room there was a strong smell of fish (it’s by the harbour so probably from the fishing fleet facilities it adjoins) but nobody to speak to - couldn’t even get air freshener from them! No option to dine with them either which considering it’s a restaurant with some rooms was a surprise at best. The member of staff I did meet at check out was very nice and genuinely wanted me to have breakfast, but that brings me to my next point. The second was that Breakfast on Wednesday ( I’m guessing there isn’t breakfast available on Monday and Tuesday - at least during winter) didn’t start until 09.30 and finished at 10.30, which is at best very late, definitely not work friendly and in this instance too late for me Overall not bad but for over £100, in Folkestone, wasn’t exactly value for money"

"Where to begin… This hotel is next to a derelict building inhabited by vulnerable people, we had to book in via a karaoke bar, which was closed luckily. We were both very apprehensive about the actual hotel. Anyway the room we were allocated was ok. It was clean , with local artwork and thankfully not bland. There was a lobby with the bathroom and then the bedroom off it. Pillows were far too soft and the headboard was scrolled metal and just awful. Please replace it with a solid one. The radiator in the room couldn’t be turned off , so we had to have the window open. Quite noisy after midnight from guests returning to the hotel. Didn’t have a good nights sleep, again disturbed by the refuse collection quite early. This is definitely a budget hotel but actually better than others we have stayed at."

"Overnight stop and good value. We had large modern comfortable room on third floor. Raj went the extra mile to make our stay really enjoyable. The breakfast was an amazing experience and one of the best ever so big applause from us Raj. They do not offer dinner and would highly recommend Marco Pierre Whites restaurant just round the corner"

"What a fantastic hotel! It was clean, tidy, with great air con at the height of the heatwave, and the staff made me most welcome. My friend recommended it to me and I was not disappointed, so I’m happy to recommend it to anyone. The only downsides were the lack of parking directly linked to the hotel - you park on the street in parking spaces and pay for that. I will happily book here again if I get down to the area."
