My partner and I stayed here for two nights over the Easter bank holiday. It was so nice to get away and surround ourselves in nature. From lapwings and curlews to sheep outside our window it was a brilliant escape we so desperately needed. We arrived a little earlier and with no staff there yet we were unable to get it, luckily a guest kindly told us the code to get it. The communal space is a good size with chairs and dinning tables. Lovely views of the surrounding area and a selection of board games that are hung from the wall. Staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful, the room was a small priviate room with a bunk bed and sink and a nice view out over the fields. The bedding was lovely, some of the best I've had at YHA, walls are very thin. We could hear our neighbours muffled voices and coughs, but seeing as we'd be chatting to them downstairs prior to bed we didn't mind at all. Other then that it was very peaceful night's sleep. There is a kitchen for cook and has everything you need, the hostel does have a selection of beer and wine on hand and there is a pub a way down the road too. We had a very comfortable stay, chatting to people, making connections, seeing the wildlife and having a camp fire outside on our second night. It was wonderful! Everyone seemed to come together and it was very relaxing. We can't wait to return!
