Hotel Grazia Alla Scannella

Our 8 day stay at the Hotel Grazia all Scannella was fabulous. From the moment of our arrival, we were enchanted by the hotel’s cliff-top location and the incredible breathtaking views. The rooms, although simple, are spotless. We had a large balcony that overlook the shimmering coastline, perfect for relaxing and watching the sun disappear over the horizon, whilst sipping a glass of the local Falanghina wine. The food was a beautifully presented and the Antipasto, in particular, was incredible. The spa and wellness area offers thermal pools, a quiet relaxation area, and professional treatment. It was the perfect retreat on our only morning of rain. Aside from the spectacular views, what sets Grazia alla Scannella apart is the staff. Special thanks to Ahmed on reception and all the waiting personnel. We left completely relaxed and rejuvenated and are planning our return later in the year. Thank you

Just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel and can thoroughly recommend it if you want a get away from it all, total chill out break. Unfortunately, although we enjoyed our stay we found the hotel a bit too quiet especially of an evening and a bit remote at this time of year for our personal taste hence only 4 blobs. That aside, the hotel is very clean with great staff and as previously mentioned, wonderful food so half board is a must. The evening meals start at 8 and I do mean 8 with guests queuing to access the restaurant to be first to the antipasti. It is truly memorable with a spread of probably 40 different cold dishes which you can have a true taste of Italy on. That’s followed by 3 smaller dishes of starter, main and dessert which again, are quality. This was the main event it seemed with many guests returning to their rooms straight after. Drinks are reasonable for this region of Italy and a hotel too - you’ll pay more in St Angelo on Ischia and twice as much on nearby Capri so be warned ! We had a sea/pool view room 202 which was quite small with lots of furniture but we had a fantastic view and it was serviced daily and well. There is a fridge which you are warned not to put your own drinks in by the hotel or they would charge you and you can request a kettle but in that particular room there is nowhere to put it. The drinks / water situation did not really bother us - we just thought that water at 2.50 euros a bottle for a wellness / spa retreat seemed a bit rich and potentially expensive but like others, we used the free shuttle bus to Forio and returned with 8 bottles for a couple of euros (now that’s a workout bringing them back on the bus! lol) or used our own filter water bottles which we took with us. Having said that, we thought the tap water was safe and drinkable despite the hotel saying it wasn’t. Overall though, the hotel is very picturesque and has a wow factor but we like a walk which isn’t really an option at this location and you truly do take your life in your hands if you hired e-bikes. Get there and judge for yourself as roads are beyond narrow and locals are manic in a good way with virtually every driver we had of a taxi or bus having a phone to their ear and we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s included in their driving tests! Would we go back, no but if the hotel was in Sorrento or Amalfi it would be a different proposition. We met some very nice British people while there and it’s definitely an older clientele (we’re in our 50’s) and it was an enjoyable stay and it deserves a visit if you’re visiting this part of the world. Great hotel, amazing food - we had a great varied breakfast buffet plus hot food and a 4 course dinner every night that was brilliant and staff couldn't do enough for you. Beautiful setting and island. A nice mix of different nationalities. The staff appreciated you trying to speak italian to them but were fairly fluent in at least English, French and German. The weather was a bit cool and cooler than England surprisingly. Great, large pool and terrace with amazing panoramic views.

Beautiful location with stunning views Our room was well presented and met all our needs and the communal arrears were perfect stylish and comfortable. The food was very good daily offering a wide variety of Italian dishes. Out only comment about the evening meal was that an 8 pm start was a tad too late for our liking, however the staff were amazing offering efficient and traditional setvice 2nd.to none.

We had a wonderful week here in May The hotel was immaculate and kept scrupulously clean. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Never seen so many attentive waiting staff in one restaurant. Food was excellent and plentiful with good choices. Lovely wine - especially the Ischian wines . We were early in the season so there were a couple of minor issues that were being ironed out, but nothing that spoiled our holiday We upgraded to a suite with a huge balcony and stunning views and sunsets.
