Wooden furniture was dated and worn although bed was comfortable. A couple of lights didn’t work. Bathroom dispensers were broken in both rooms that we had and the rooms had some loose fittings and several parts of the hotel had a smell of stale cigarettes.

Been here a few times now and always pleased with service. Julie is great always fusses our dogs and has treats for them. Kerry and Steve are great to, helpful and friendly. When we were here before Christmas a refurb was about to start so was looking forward to seeing the new look but have to admit rather disappointing. Looks more like a lick of paint, beds moved and usb added, new curtains and comfy chairs and a nice picture but the furniture was the same tired worn out furniture but looked worse because a new piece of wood had been put round the edges so tattyness of old showed up even more. The corridor doors had new signs but looked very tatty cos of where old signs had been. Door frames still chipped and scratched. Could have looked better if not replacing if at least varnished or painted. Also bathrooms a new bit of lino shower curtain and work top but same old tired bath with stains and bit of rust round taps. They also seem to have taken away the net curtains so privacy not so good as it was. Would not class as having a refurbishment more just a tidy up done very half heartedly, a shame. Will still give a five star review because of friendly staff, good location, plenty of free parking and clean but if it had been first visit probably would have been a 4. Fingers crossed a full refurb will be done at some point.

Had a one night stay here in April 2025 and would not return. The room smelt musty and it was very dusty. The bedlinen and towels were clean and fresh. The room was overpriced for the quality of the accommodation (particularly as there was a separate charge for WiFi). During my stay there was a significant problem with water (no hot water, toilets not flushing etc) which was far from acceptable as I was not able to shower or wash properly. Despite the hotel knowing of the problem for some time, I was not told until I checked in at 11pm, in which I was offered a transfer to another hotel but also told that the issue should be sorted by the morning. Given the time, it was not an option to drive elsewhere but the hotel could have been pro-active and contacted me earlier in the day to explain, thereby allowing me chance to consider a transfer to another hotel. The staff were extremely apologetic and were clearly managing a difficult situation and multiple unhappy guests! It was a difficult time for the staff, and I hope the issue got resolved promptly. With many thanks to the Hotel Manager who was professional and very helpful throughout. Purely based on the room quality, it’s unfortunately not a hotel I would return to and there are much better accommodation choices for the price point.

The hotel itself is good - the room I stayed in was large, well aired, lovely bed and nice bathroom. Unfortunately on the night I was staying there was a fire alarm which disrupted my stay - I felt the hotel staff were very cold and did not care for the customers who all had to stand outside in the rain for over 40 minutes - no checking in on anyone. Would stay again though - just unlucky on this occassion

Easy access to motorway, I stayed for a work trip, only needed somewhere to sleep and shower, easy free car parking, very limited food options due to location,

After a very long drive and still a long way to go, the Frankley travel lodge was perfect to stop at, by the time I got there there was only 1 room left, Julie was very helpful and the bed was very comfortable, was a perfect little rest stop before the end of my journey

Being right on the M5 I was worried about noise however this was not the case and I had a room at the front. I could hear a slight hum of traffic but nothing to deter me from sleeping. This is a very basic hotel set separate from the services with one vending machine. Parking area was littered with rubbish and mud so a little uninviting. Staff were welcoming and room was clean and comfortable so perfect for a short nights stay for the price.
