Macaron Boutique Guest House

This was our second time to Franschhoek. The Macaron did not disappoint. A 2 min walk from the main street where all the shops and restaurants are, so a very central location. However the Macaron is very quiet and tranquil. Their pool area is stunning with comfy sunbeds, umbrellas and towels. We booked Room 3 which is their largest suite and comes with its own secluded patio area with garden furniture, yet is only a stones throw from the main pool area. Breakfast was delightful; an extensive range of fruit, meats, cheese and pastries plus cooked options were also available at no additional cost. We would have no hesitation in recommending this guest house to anyone who is visiting Franschhoek, and this will definitely be our port of call for our next trip.

For us the Macaron was perfect. A two night stay after a glorious but franetic wedding party. It gave us the perfect peace and calm to slow down and recover our energy ready for our next trip to a safari on the Eastern Cape. The welcome was informal and professional, the garden, a series of beautifully crafted and stocked interlinking external spaces and our room straight off of an interior designers drawing board. While the Macaron is not quite as swanky as the frontages of some of the boutique hotels on the main drag in town, it is still extremely classy but livable and all the more relaxing for that. Sometimes a top top end hotel make you feel ashamed to unpack your creased non designer clothes. That's not the Macaron it is smart but friendly, somewhere where you can relax amongst the fountains, peer through the papyrus reeds and luxuriate in the sea water pool. The breakfast spread and outside seating was a delight and the staff so attentive to our morning needs. So if you want to relax in a garden paradise and not worry about not having packed the right Gucci slippers go to the Macaron

This is the most delightful guest house. Everything about it is in my opinion dead right and I would highly recommend this for a stay whilst in Franschhoek.

Friendly staff, beautiful setting, this guest house has all the necessary requirements for a great holiday. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and well appointed. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Lovely guest house just a block away from downtown, charming wine country town. Pleasant staff, nice breakfast, and help with arranging excursions.
