This will go down as one of my favorite hotels of all time. The owners were so amazing and the staff was impressive. It’s up in the hill so you have this beautiful view of the city. But what makes it amazing is you feel like you’re at home. If I can be honest, I didn’t wanna leave. If you’re coming to Freetown, definitely stay here!

Nice rooms, clean, with aircon. Breakfast and Restaurant, better than many hotels in Sierra Leone. Service at arrival fast, bar and cold drinks possible. Help for Ferry Seacoach Express to Conackry, taxi to airport or ferry is included. You have to control and remain by the staff, if taxi has been ordered. Tourorganisation for trips around possible. Check and control the tour hour to avoid waiting time!

I came back to Stafford lodge this year with Bea Adventurous on a cultural immersion tour of Freetown. Sierra Leone might well be a third world country, but with the country now at peace after the Civil War it is well worth a trip for those looking to explore a new culture, learn about its incredible history and the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. The hotel is run by Doree a d her team and if you’re looking for a safe hotel in Freetown, at a reasonable price, this is the place to come. The hotel has come on leaps and bounds since my last visit despite the tough economic conditions of this country. Westerners have very different expectations hotels that they stay in across the world and I think that Dory and her amazing staff are doing an incredible job at encouraging tourism was making you feel safe and secure. The rooms are really comfortable with air-conditioning, hot showers and there’s always a cold beer and nice food. The hotel is central and offers transport in and around the city. Be brave and come and visit! This is definitely the place to stay in Freetown. cold beer in the fridge.

I had a wonderful three night stay at Stafford Lodge and was made to feel incredibly comfortable and welcome. My room was clean, safe, secure and comfortable, the staff were always on hand, friendly and willing to go the extra mile. They went above and beyond to provide information to make my exploration of Freetown even more interesting! I would go back to Stafford Lodge in a flash if I ever go back to Sierra Leone!

This is just the best place to stay in Sierra Leone. All the staff are really great and the place is very comfortable. In addition to the hotel, Dori, the joint owner, arranged our 16 night tour around Sierra Leone and provided a driver and full time guide. The whole trip was flawless from being collected at the airport by the Aberdeen water taxi rep. Dori and her husband Desmond ensured all trip details were perfectly arranged. Suleiman, her brother in law was our driver for 2 weeks and Bassie was our guide. Bassie was passionate about his country and explained the history so well. Sierra Leone while being a poor country is so interesting and has so much history. We would definitely recommend Dori's travel company, Salone Hidden Gems, to organise your trip to Sierra Leone. We completely recommend the entire team at Stafford Lodge as just perfect.
