I'm not even sure why I chose this hotel. The staff were pleasant, and the room itself was generally nice. However, the shared bathroom for the entire block was dirty. I travel light and didn't have slippers, so I had to go barefoot to shower. There are very few places to eat and no shops nearby, so I ended up buying water at a pizzeria. In the morning, I decided not to risk a fungal infection and skipped showering altogether.

The hotel has changed name to Wray Hotel and check in was thru the restaurant downstairs. Parking is available and free. Did not realized the hotel is with shared bathrooms and toilets. Nevertheless, we just stay a night as a stopover before going up North. Bearable for a night stay.

Left on street! Took money! Arrived with young family later than expected. They did not let us in. We tried for two hours phoning and begging to be let in. As it didn’t feel like a safe area, we went back to the airport and had to sleep there. When speaking to them on the phone the following day, they lied about phone calls and asked me to send through a phone log. They also said they would phone me back which they did not. I tried to send through the phone log as proof as requested, but they had given me fake emails. Each time I call I am told the manager will phone me back but nobody does. They have taken our money and ruined a family holiday. In addition to the night of the hotel, we had also had to pay for taxi to, and from the airport and could not do our trip the following day due to lack of sleep. This hotel is known as both of the Beaconsfield and The Wray. Please do not trust either I do not want other people to go through what my family had to.

The hotel is in a great location, with nearby attractions and shopping, and free parking. The room is small but adequate. There's no air conditioning, but there's a small window that lets you open for fresh air. The public restrooms and showers are very convenient. The front desk is at the bar on the first floor, and you can also have a drink or coffee while checking in and getting your room card. ☕️ Remember to lock your door when you go to bed at night! I was terrified that night by the drunk guest from the room across the street who banged on my door and pulled on the door handle.

Terrible! Would not go back! Desperately had to book 2 nights and this place was available on a busy weekend in WA. Fully regret wasting the overpriced $337.00 for a room. Shared bathroom which was a "Workpace Health & Safety" zone. Absolutely disgraceful. Flooded bathroom entry from a leaking vanity pedestal at floor, which flowed from the entry into the shared toilets and shower rooms. Mats should of been thrown long ago, totally waterlogged as they were swimming. Thongs were not high enough to have the gross water on your feet. No mop left in there to try contain it. Was being cleaned by poor girl & then not cleaned for the next 2 days in any way at all. Absolutely feral. 1 of the 3 toilets had no door handle, apparently they knew about it for days but no effort to fix. Got locked in there, thankfully managed to get out by using a large key in the mechanism hole. No toilet paper rolls to replace them on roll holders, just the large massive roll on the floor to use (wet from the leaking vanity.) No towels in room or 2nd sheet on bed. Had to call the bar downstairs to get some bought up at 9pm at night. *A total regret and we felt dirty staying in this accommodation, especially afyer using the Unisex shared bathroom. Overpriced like everything that weekend in WA, but I'd regret paying any amount after being at the Wray Hotel.* Cold beers, fair food but sadly the Chef can't cook a steak. 😫

We went to the restaurant section, it was tastefully decorated, the food was very good with a wide selection on the menu and the service was excellent.

Really can't fault the hotel for the price they are asking. Good bed, clean room, what more can you ask for. Shared shower and toilet, but again the price is low cause of that.

The Wray has an excellent menu with a huge variety of meals to suit any palate. Their pork spareribs are usually a stand out, as are their lamb chops. However, on the weekend they had a new Sunday roast special that was being trialed. Sadly, the combination didn’t work. The beef was a little too rare, the pork belly too fatty, the fried mac and cheese bar (yes you heard that right) was cold, as were the mush peas, and the pickled onions were completely out of place. The crowning glory was the Yorkshire Pudding which was as dry and crusty as my mother in law. To top it off, we ordered the $28 bottle of house SB and were charged for a $39 bottle - we didn’t notice this until we arrived home. Too late and too far to go back and get a refund. We may go back to the Wray but we will stick with their tried and true meals.

I stayed at the Wray for few nights. I had a beautiful comfy stay. The bed was comfy and the room was very clean. The toilets were clean but they are shared. I went downstairs and watched the afl game. It was packed and the food was amazing. There’s some renovations about to happen for the toilets in the accommodation.

Booked a table beforehand. When we arrived the barperson was not interested in our booking just sit whereever. Shared the seafood plate a special on Friday. Food ok nothing special. It was 1.30pm and the restaurant was nearly empty. Checked the toilets out before we left. Very ordinary. The floors had some sort of sealent peeling off them. Looked dirty. One of the spray bottles had fallen off the wall into the basin. We did not use them. Just disappointment as it really did not seem to have improved since we were there a few years ago especially as it was voted best Tavern 2024.

Very cold in the bar and we had to ask for it to be turned off. Had the Pearl Couscous salad with chicken and a house red…. Expensive for a tasteless Red I might add. Started to feel tummy problems pretty much within an hour after eating and had to leave my friends. Left half the wine so indicative of how I felt after the meal. !!! I never leave a wine. Got home and vomited profusely 3 times with the whole meal ending up in the loo. Went on all night… would say it was the chicken in the dish coz a salad is pretty easy to whip up. Won’t be back after this lot of gastro… check your meat Wray. Lady next to us also made a complaint about her food as well.
