Positive: Hotel in the middle of the mountains, charming and efficient reception staff, spacious family room, ideally located for hiking, good value for money in the restaurant even if portions are not very generous. Negative: Accessible only with a 4x4 vehicle. If you do not have one, you will either have to go up with a paid jeep from the hotel (10€/pers), or take the “Fuente Dé cable car 7€/pers a&r) + jeep from the hotel (free)”, with prior reservation with the hotel.

First of all, it is in Cantabria, at the top of the Fuente De cable car (3.5km away). Accessible on foot or by car on roads or by 4x4 that can be hired from the hotel. The hotel is simple, cozy, with very friendly staff. Very economical half board service available and possibility of picnic if desired to go on routes. It is in an impressive environment in the middle of pure nature. The bathrooms need a good renovation but the rooms are good, very comfortable beds and correct cleaning. The option of rooms for 4 and 6 people is a hit. Cafe and restaurant

This accommodation is located in Cantabria, not in León, nor in Posada de Valdeón, as it has been appearing on TripAdvisor for years, without being corrected. We attest that this year he has not moved from Cantabria, as always when we visit him.

We spent a good weekend with friends. Price quality, it must be said that it is good. It's a shame about the outdated facilities that should be updated. Highly recommended for hiking routes and enjoying nature. The treatment we received was cordial.

It is the first time I write a negative review but this hotel deserves no less. On Saturday, July 30, while doing the ring of peaks, we decided to "pay ourselves a tribute" and rent a room in this hotel for €88 instead of staying in a refuge, which is much cheaper. Given the price, we expected a hotel in good condition and this is what we found: 1. HOTEL: The rooms and the hotel in general are old, the furniture like the ones in my room from 30 years ago, gotelé, old doors, plugs They are not next to the bed and they are so old that when you plug something in it falls out, the shower is the old one with two cranks for hot and cold water and you have to adjust it until you can take a shower. The bathroom door didn't close. I'm not a picky eater but for €88 I expected a decent hotel. 2. TREATMENT: Without a doubt the worst was the waiter's treatment, we thought there was a hidden camera because of the way he treated people, apart from us the rest of the kids there were freaking out. You asked him if he had anything and he answered rudely: WHAT YOU SEE, and you had to look inside the bar to see if he had it. At 8:30 when the dining room opened, we went in to have dinner and there was only a table of 4 free that they won't let us occupy because there are 3 of us. I tell the waiter: There is a table of 4 and there are 3 of us, can't we sit down? And without looking up at me he says: NO. I couldn't believe it. We had to wait outside and after 15/20 minutes they came out and called us to have dinner at that same table of 4… It was a total disappointment, both the treatment and the hotel itself. On the positive side: The environment is BEAUTIFUL and I have to say that both the waitresses inside the dining room and the girl at the reception were very nice.

No le pongo 5 estrellas por el cambio en la carta del restaurante, que ha sido a peor. Han eliminado los platos fuera del menú, los tradicionales basados en huevos fritos acompañados de diferentes productos. Actualmente no te queda más opción que elegir un menú de tres platos para cenar, cosa que para muchas personas puede ser excesivo. El resto del hotel, dentro de sus limitaciones y su antigüedad, es una maravilla, es un plan que no falta en nuestros veranos desde hace ya siete años. El personal es majísimo y el entorno es maravilloso.
