Tominoko Hotel

The room was quite spacious, and the views of Mount Fuji and the lake from the window were superb. Restaurants outside are a bit far, so it's best to eat at the hotel. Overall, it's pretty good.

The location is very convenient, right at the 12th stop of the scenic shuttle bus's red line. There's a lady at the front desk who speaks Chinese. The food quality is average, but the room view is unbeatable and offers better value for money than nearby hotels. Check-out time is before 10:00 AM. The facilities are a bit old, especially the sink, which is too low – it's between my thigh and knee. I'm 170cm tall, and I felt like I had to kneel to wash my face.

The hygiene was really poor. Breakfast was quite limited, and while dinner was acceptable, the taste wasn't great. Specifically, they used a bedspread as a duvet cover, which kept falling off while I was sleeping. The duvet insert itself was also very dirty. The view was decent, though.

This hotel is essentially set up for tour groups. View: The view is good, as shown in the attached photos, but honestly, there aren't many opportunities to appreciate it during your stay. Dining: Dinner was the first time I've ever seen a 'buffet' in Japan that felt like a meeting of pre-packaged meals under a certain star rating. Most guests are on group tours, and the groups are quite large. The hotel facilities themselves are average, not bad, and reasonably clean. However, there are no convenience stores nearby, which is quite inconvenient at night. Service: Most of the hotel staff are from Southeast Asia. They probably don't compare to any other Japanese hotel I've stayed at on my personal trips, except for perhaps budget hotels. There was also a Chinese lady, but her service level (specifically towards Chinese tourists) didn't even match what I've experienced in hotels back home, which was very puzzling. This was in stark contrast to the Chinese server I met at the Park Hyatt Kyoto. In summary, I recommend independent travelers think twice before choosing this hotel.

This hotel offers incredible value for money, especially with its stunning Mount Fuji views! You can enjoy a direct view of Mount Fuji right from your balcony, which is fantastic. It includes complimentary breakfast and dinner, plus a shuttle service to/from Fujikawaguchiko Station, making getting around super convenient. There's also a souvenir shop on the first floor if you want to browse. Oh, and getting around the Mount Fuji area can be tricky if you don't have a car, as you're limited to buses or taxis. Luckily, there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, which is a huge plus for those without their own transport. The room itself is nice. It's not exceptionally large, but you can easily open two 28-inch suitcases at the same time, which is perfectly adequate. Overall, my stay was excellent, and I'd definitely come back if I have the chance! The first two photos were taken from the balcony, and the last one was taken at the hotel entrance.

Hotel Fujinomiya is the top choice when visiting Lake Kawaguchiko! The hotel is built right on the lake, with balconies directly facing Lake Kawaguchiko and Mount Fuji. The public onsen offers incredible views, allowing you to gaze at Mount Fuji while soaking. The rooms are spacious. We opted for the breakfast and dinner buffet package. The breakfast selection was a bit limited, but dinner had a good variety of main dishes, including Japanese curry rice, seafood bowls (donburi), and soba noodles – though no sashimi. A pleasant surprise was receiving complimentary snow crab legs for staying two consecutive nights! The hotel provides a very thoughtful free shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko Station. The staff are warm and polite, and the free parking is very convenient. It's an excellent spot for Mount Fuji viewing. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit!

This price point is an incredible value! I booked it for just over 1000, which included breakfast and dinner, plus a balcony room. The hotel only has balcony rooms on the sixth floor, so there aren't many. The view is absolutely stunning; you can see Mount Fuji right from your bed!
