Hotel Riverge Akebono Reviews

I've been staying at this hotel for over ten years whenever I visit Fukui, probably more than eight times now, even though it's a bit far, about a kilometer from the JR station. I love their large public bath, the massage chairs, the dozen or so shampoos and conditioners available in the bath, the free coffee, the riverside view, the abundant breakfast, and the many delicious restaurants nearby. Even though the front desk staff don't speak Chinese or English, they at least understand a little English. However, this stay was quite disappointing. They assigned me a room in the very corner. At first, I was happy with it; I could see my favorite river view right from the window. But on the second day, I discovered that the entire floor was under renovation, and the air was filled with a pungent chemical smell, like strong glue. I initially thought the whole building was being renovated, but later I went to other floors and realized only my floor was under renovation, and there were plenty of empty rooms on other floors. Yet, they still put me on a floor that was under renovation. It was really thoughtless of them.

The breakfast is very good. There have a lot kind of food. The staff is very nice.

The hotel is generally clean and the breakfast is fine. There is a possibility that I will come back to this hotel if I visit this area in the future.

Located a bit over a 10 minute walk from Fukui station, this hotel is slightly old but is still totally acceptable. Do note that it's slightly away from the main sites and it's a few minutes walk from different eating options. The sento is not large but appreciated

Tailored to a business hotel with big public baths. The breakfast was the gem, almost like a buffet but Japanese style with all the pickles, grilled fish. To die for! We paid 900 yen for each of the kids well worth it as they got the same access to the range! The location is very close to the river and an easy walk to any restaurants around. Parking did cost us another 880 yen.

It is great

The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the station. From the west exit, turn left and walk straight to the traffic light intersection. Cross the road and continue straight for about two small intersections, then turn left to find the hotel. Behind the hotel is a small bridge over a river. The hotel's rooftop is a large public bathhouse, which, although small, is very clean and quiet! There are buses across the street that stop at the train station, but we chose to walk because sightseeing in the city was much more comfortable 😊. The hotel staff speak fluent English and are very polite; communication was no problem at all! I would definitely stay at this hotel again next time I visit Fukui!

I stayed in a standard twin room. The room was clean, the amenities were adequate, and there was a table and chair next to the bed, as well as a large mirror, so I was able to stay comfortably. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and I was very happy. The hotel staff were also kind, and were happy to accept my family's breakfast order, as they had stayed at another hotel at short notice, so we were able to all enjoy a delicious breakfast together. I am very grateful. Thank you very much.

This hotel is really great value for money. It's under 300 yen and the conditions are good. The rooms are also spacious. It's only a 10-minute walk to Fukui Station. There are old and new buildings. I saw that the largest room I saw had 4 beds, which is very convenient. There is also a large public bath on the roof, but unfortunately there is no view and you can't see the surrounding scenery.
