Golden Guest House Hakata

It was nice, the check-in procedure was quick and the bed is pretty comfortable, I really loved the place

Hakata is the vibrant, beating heart of Fukuoka, perfectly blending modern convenience with rich local tradition. Famous worldwide as the birthplace of rich, creamy Tonkotsu ramen, the area is an absolute paradise for food lovers. As night falls, the streets along the river come alive with iconic open-air food stalls (yatai), serving up piping-hot noodles, grilled skewers, and cold drinks in an unbeatable, friendly atmosphere.

this hostel looks nothing like the photos - not sure ho they get away with this. the location is terrible, so far from anything. the beds are old not modern like the photos, you sleep on a mattress protector not a sheet, the doors don’t lock (even the private room) and there are no lockers. everything is dirty, the toilet did not get cleaned at all during my stay even though it was clearly dirty. the walls are so thin you can hear everything.

Golden guest house was nice and cozy for a brief stay. A 20 min walk from Hakata station. The hotel was safe and secure and it does the job for a brief stay in the area.

Good price to compare with location. 20 min walk from Hakata station

Room: comfortable bed, storage box, mirror, space under the bed, hanger, a good chunk of space next to the bed, light, plugs, fan, full curtain, and steps to the higher bunks rather than a ladder. all really useful features. Bathroom: spacious shower. shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cotton buds, good hair dryer, towels. Little bit of grime around the edges but generally clean. Security: pin on hostel after certain hours I think. Amenities: fridge. downstairs eating area.I don't think there is a washing machine but there are numerous coin laundry places in walking distance. Location: not the most convenient location but not bad e.g. from the train station, you can go one stop by bus but still have to walk ten minutes, but there are limited places to cross the road and street lighting can be poor so follow your directions carefully. however within the surrounding area itself there is a good mix of convenience stores and restaurants. Other: noise from downstairs and other rooms.

It was a nice hostel in a convenient location. Everything was clean and the facilities were well maintained. The bed space was surprisingly spacious, with enough room to keep my large bag inside, which was very convenient. Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant stay.

That was an awesome hostel.I’ll come back someday

The beds are spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and they offered hairdryer and other hair supplies. The staff was always friendly and the guest house is close to most bus lines with good connections. I would definitely stay here again!
