Very clolse to Gion station (2-3 mins). Walking distance from Hakata station, too (10-15 mins). There are a lot of restaurants and convenience stores around this ryokan. There are two shared bathrooms (with shower) with a lock, and more than 4 high-tech toilets if i'm not wrong. The building is quit old but clean enough to me. Easy checkin and checkout. The kind owner (older guy) speaks English. If you want to enjoy hotel stay, it might be a good idea to choose the ordinary hotels. But if you want to experience something different or just want to stay (sleep) overnight, Yamamoto Ryokan could be one of the good options.

Location is fine, but otherwise this place kept everything old. I wouldn’t come back.

I stayed for one night with my family on the second day of my trip to Fukuoka! I went because I wanted to experience a traditional Japanese ryokan. The location is really good!

Very traditional ryokan. It’s okay if you want to experience it once, but it’s recommended that you just stay for a day and experience it once. Facilities: A square room with your own bed and quilt to sleep in. My son likes it very much and thinks it is more fun. The whole family has fun! Restrooms and bathrooms are shared. You can take a bath. Like an old-fashioned bathhouse. The bathroom is a bit small. The toothbrush cup is shared and the toothbrush is very hard, so it is recommended to bring your own. Environment: There are many restaurants and convenience stores around. It's not far from the JR train station. It takes about ten minutes to walk. Service: basically none. The grandpa will come out to greet you when you check in. After your passport is copied, you will be given the room key🔑. Then tell you the location of public facilities and how to activate some facilities in the room. Then we didn’t see him again until we checked out, haha

What's the difference? It's not as convenient as a hotel. If you haven't experienced it before, you can give it a try.

The hotel location was good, it was cleaner than I expected, and the owners were friendly. The Nakasu River is just a short walk away, and there are many restaurants nearby.

The location is perfect, but the building is old and what about security? There's a part of me that thinks so. It also appears that the owner has a small dog in the inn, and you can hear it barking.
