Hotel Nikko Fukuoka

If you're walking above ground from Hakata Subway Station, take Exit West 12. If you're using the underground shopping area, take the elevator to B1 and then switch to the hotel's elevator. The lobby is quite grand, and the front desk service was good; they arranged a room for me on the top floor (14th floor). For a Japanese hotel, the room size was very good. I could open two 26-inch suitcases on the floor. There were plenty of outlets in the room, but no USB charging ports, so make sure to bring your two-prong adapters 🔌. The hotel is connected to an underground passage. Turning left leads to Gion Station, and turning right leads to Hakata Station. Just outside the hotel entrance, to the right, there's a large 7-Eleven, which is very convenient for grabbing snacks at night. Japan now has an accommodation tax, which will be collected upon checkout.

The room was very spacious, perfect for a solo traveler. I absolutely loved the mattress – not too soft, not too hard. The hotel lobby had a grand, stylish feel. Breakfast was decent, offering all the essentials. I particularly loved the location; just cross the street from the hotel and you're at Hakata Station. Coming back after a day out felt like returning home. The soundproofing in the room was excellent, making it incredibly quiet, almost like a meditation retreat. The only slight issue was on the last night when two very loud Korean guests checked into the room next door, but they quieted down by around 11 PM. I would definitely stay at Hotel Nikko again.

The hotel's location is fantastic. It's just a 3-minute walk from the main exit of Hakata Station, right along the main road. Canal City is also close by, making it incredibly convenient. The hotel lobby is truly grand, and the newly renovated rooms, though slightly more expensive, boast brand-new facilities that make for a very comfortable stay. The internet connection was good, the room size was decent, and the design was well-thought-out.

The environment and service are top-notch, and the breakfast is amazing. Definitely worth staying again.

This is an older hotel chain, and I chose it this time because the first hotel I stayed at in Japan over a decade ago was a Nikko. I haven't picked it in a long time, so I wanted to try it again, purely for nostalgic reasons. The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation, and the service remains good. However, during this stay, they were undergoing exterior renovations, which meant I couldn't open the curtains, making the room feel a bit claustrophobic. The hotel didn't mention this special circumstance on the booking platform, nor did they inform me during check-in. They also didn't offer to move me to a room not affected by the renovations or provide any other form of compensation. The complete lack of communication and options is truly unacceptable. Hotel Nikko Fukuoka is an established hotel in Fukuoka that I've stayed at a few times. It's very conveniently located close to the station, and you can even access the Hakata Station underground from its B2 level, making it easy to get anywhere. The hotel service is consistently excellent. Although the facilities are a bit older, they are very well-maintained. The room size is decent, and the soundproofing is good, making it very quiet. The only thing I found a bit unusual was having to step into the bathtub for a shower.

On this trip to Kyushu, Japan, I stayed for three nights at the Hotel Nikko Fukuoka. I've always been a fan of the Nikko brand and have stayed at their hotels in many places across Japan. In my opinion, they're quite upscale. The location is excellent, right near Hakata Station with plenty of shopping malls nearby, perfect for exploring. The hotel service was also top-notch; the staff, front desk, and greeters were all very nice. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Every time I visit Fukuoka, I stay here. It's super convenient, just across the street from Hakata Station. The rooms are quite spacious, the bedding is excellent, and the service is top-notch. From check-in to housekeeping, and even calling a taxi when checking out, they're always accommodating. I've given them good reviews many times, so I won't elaborate too much, but I do have two suggestions for improvement: 1. The breakfast is truly too simple. The main issue is that in all the times I've stayed here, the breakfast has been almost identical with no changes whatsoever. It got to the point where I didn't even want to eat it on my last day. 2. I wish the rooms had body lotion. Why do they provide makeup remover, face wash, and skincare products, but no body lotion or hand cream? I don't understand. Ultimately, if the breakfast could be varied and offer more options, I would gladly continue staying here.
