Ofunato Plaza Hotel

Ofunato Plaza Hotel

📍 Chayamae-7-8 Ofunatocho, Ofunato
★★★ 9.0 (74 reviews)

"We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. It would be wonderful if the hotel had a public bath or hot spring. The property is close to a number of dining options, all within walking distance."

Hotel Route Inn Ofunato

Hotel Route Inn Ofunato

📍 Nonoda-154-9 Ofunatocho, Ofunato
★★★ 8.7 (76 reviews)

"The price is very good. The hotel is a little far from the Dachuandu Station, but in the commercial street circle, it is very convenient to buy things and eat. The big bath is very good. The location of the laundry room, vending machine, ice maker is very convenient. Personally feel that there is a free newspaper (although it is the same official wide-ranging media as reading and selling news 😂). The seal of the lamb is very cute. The last time I stayed in the series of hotels should have been more than ten years ago, and it was also in the place, and the impression was not bad. Now it seems that some luxury hotel facilities are very good. But the design is not close to the people, but it is not as good as this store. I have never written this kind of article for decades in Japan, but this time I felt really good in the local town, making an exception."

Ofunato Onsen

Ofunato Onsen

📍 Marumori-29-1 Ofunatocho, Ofunato
★★★ 8.8 (11 reviews)

"The room assigned was quite small, and there’s no shower in the room, you got to shower down at the onsen. Overall, the location is great, the dinner was okay, but the onsen was slightly disappointing as it was quite small, although the view was quite breathtaking."

Ryokan Kikusuikan

📍 Ofunato-cho, Shinden, 44-8, Ofunato
★★ 9.4 (3 reviews)

"We used it without meals, the building was new, clean and comfortable, there was a convenience store nearby, and I didn't feel any inconvenience."

Koyokan

Koyokan

📍 Shirahama-95 Sanrikucho Ryori, Ofunato
★★★ 7.7 (2 reviews)

"This hotel is located on a hill by the sea in a small fishing village. Relax in a quiet environment. The lounge and room overlook the bay. You can see the sunrise directly in front of you. The bath is not a hot spring, but I took it slowly. The food is perfect, but it's all seafood and meat. The whole is beautiful because it is rebuilt after the earthquake. In the lobby lounge, jazz, which is the owner's hobby, is played, and you can relax while looking at the sea. This is a hotel I would like to use again."

Hotel Route Inn Ofunato ★★★
"This is a Japanese hotel chain, mostly located in rural areas or small towns. I've stayed at this branch in Kumamoto before. The location is excellent, in the center of Kesennuma, next to a BRT bus stop. However, the area is sparsely populated, being one of the areas most severely affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake."

Ofunato Onsen ★★★
"Ofunato Onsen is a seaside ryokan-style hotel overlooking Ofunato Bay in Iwate Prefecture. Opened in 2014 as part of the region’s post-2011 tsunami recovery, it combines modern comfort with traditional Japanese hospitality. The hotel has about 58–69 rooms depending on room classification sources, nearly all with ocean views. Its biggest highlight is the natural open-air onsen facing the Pacific Ocean, especially famous for sunrise views over the bay. The fresh Sanriku seafood dinners were great. What amazed me was that they cleaned the soil from my bamboo walking staff when I placed it overnight at the hotel entrance umbrella stand."
