FURANO HOTEL (Renewal Opening on May, 2025)

The hygiene was terrible, and the facilities were old. The location is a bit secluded, but it was comfortable. Breakfast was okay. If the price was around $800, it would be acceptable.

This hotel is truly a hidden gem nestled in the mountains, making it almost impossible to spot from afar. This contributes to its incredibly peaceful and quiet environment! Although it feels tucked away, it's actually very convenient for visiting attractions near Furano. The hotel was just renovated in 2025, so its facilities and environment generally meet modern standards, though some areas still show a bit of age. The biggest pleasant surprise was the EV charging stations in the parking lot – extremely convenient! The only complaint I have is that the glass in the large public bath was covered in bird droppings, which really detracted from the otherwise stunning mountain views.

This newly renovated hotel only opened in May, but everything feels rough and haphazard. I think the owner genuinely wants to run Furano's top hotel, as there aren't many standout hotels in the area. However, I have to say it's not very successful. The most frustrating part is the shower in the bathroom. Guests have to stand in a curved bathtub and awkwardly pull out the showerhead to bathe. I wonder what the designer was thinking? Have they ever tried using it themselves? Can someone with soap on them stand steadily in that tub? Was that even considered? There were many other unsatisfactory aspects that I won't go into. The lobby, though, is quite grand and nice – a definite plus for the hotel, but guests can't stay in the lobby. Anyway, the beds and pillows chosen for the rooms are mediocre, and the morning sun shines right through the curtains, making the room too bright.

The room was clean, the bedding comfortable, and the breakfast delicious. The hot springs were also very enjoyable. Unfortunately, I visited too late in the season to see the lavender fields in full bloom. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a great ambiance, perfect for a relaxing getaway. You can stroll through the farm and gardens, and the hot springs weren't crowded, which was lovely.

The hotel is a bit remote, located on a mountain, so it's more convenient if you're driving. I booked two nights, but for some reason, the reservation stated we had to switch rooms halfway through our stay. I asked the front desk if they could arrange for us to stay in the same room type so we wouldn't have to move, but the hotel refused. The room type was good and quite spacious, with a lovely view of the lavender garden. During our stay, the hotel announced that the restaurant would be closed for dinner in the evenings, so we had no choice but to eat out. Fortunately, the hotel's breakfast was superb, with a wide variety of choices – definitely a plus!

The hotel rooms aren't huge, but they have all the basic amenities, making it one of the best hotels in Furano. They offer complimentary drinks and snacks, and the breakfast buffet is quite good too. The public bath was also not crowded.

Great for families to relax, and the hot springs are very comfortable.
