LalaGalu
"The kind of amazing that sneaks up on you."
Coco-De-Ville
Mzima Beach Residences - Diani Beach
"The resort is nicely built at the Galu beach and has access to the sea. Nice buildings with good standards, air condition, spacious sleeping and living rooms and various pools. We also had a chief and various other people to cook for us and take care of the cleaning, laundry, well being in general. Overall it was a great experience with very friendly and helpful staff."
Blue Marlin Beach Hotel
"Nice place to stay and good value. Some notes that may be helpful: - tuktuk 200+100 ksh tip to Ali Babour’s Cave Restaurant for 3 people (max capacity of a tuktuk). Just go out to road and flag one down. About the same cost to get to a Carrefour supermarket. - Free bottled water in rooms (room temp). They provide more when you run out - Breakfast (bnb option) was amazing. Fruit, yoghurt, eggs, sausage, waffles, coffee, juice - Very entertaining watching the kite surfers in front of the resort - Air conditioning works well - No pressure for purchasing food, drinks or trinkets when lounging on their nice beach chairs all afternoon. - If driving from the Momasa train station or airport it may be a many hour wait for the ferry going south out of Mombasa. A bypass bridge is possibly opening up later in 2024 which will be much faster. Flying in/out of the diani airport (Ukunda) is a 15 min drive to the Blue Marlin."
Upani in Diani with Complimentary Cook
"It is ideally located within close proximity to the inviting Galu beach. Enjoyed very much the refreshing atmosphere, cool breezes and connection with nature! Rooms had sufficient space and comfort! The entire stay was well worth the overnight trip to and from the coast!"
Lantana Galu Beach
"Excellent staff, great accommodation, rooms were just right including the facilities. Very good value for the quality of the property"
Grand Amber Villa
Queens Chateau Boutique Villa
Al Mahali Villas
"We traveled together as two couples and initially stayed at the neighboring Neptune Paradise. During that first week, we discovered Al Mahali Villas and, after some friendly contact, were even able to view one of the villas. For our second week, we booked one of the larger villas with three bedrooms – ideal for up to six people. The resort is in a quiet location, very green and well-maintained, with direct access to the beach. The private pool is also beautifully designed and we used it regularly. Overall, we felt very comfortable there – you have peace and quiet while still having enough options for self-catering. The daily cleaning service deserves special mention; it not only cleaned but also did the dishes and made the beds. An evening turndown service was also included. The staff were always friendly, helpful, and professional – especially Veronica, who took care of everything. The villa itself is tastefully furnished and adequately equipped. However, there are some minor structural flaws that should be addressed at some point – including… Initially, our air conditioning wasn't reliable, the water pressure in the shower was a bit weak at times, and there were a few areas where improvements could be made. None of this was serious, but it was noticeable (from a Western perspective). The kitchen was well-equipped enough for self-catering. There are supermarkets and delivery services nearby. A chef can also be booked through management (around $20 USD per day), but we didn't use this service. The complex also has its own restaurant, which looked promising, but was a bit pricey compared to other beachfront restaurants – so we didn't try it. Overall, a very pleasant place to stay with good service and a peaceful atmosphere. Self-catering is easy, the location is fantastic, and we were very impressed with the whole package. We would definitely come back."
